I disagree. There are more than enough cheerful programs. I at least would love to never see or hear another one.

I'm happy that Medvedeva at least chose something that's good to listen to that doesn't constantly grind my ears with gaudy things like singing or sudden loud noises. I have to wonder why it's so much more difficult to find programs pleasant to experience these days. The new Lipnitskaya / Radionova I saw for instance were not great(Although Radionova's is a massive improvement).


Good to see that Medvedeva is still sticking with at least one decent program. The day "cheerful" programs and pop music are standard is the end of figure skating for me. I wish someone told the skaters that just because singing isn't banned you don't have to ruin every song with it. Oh how I would love if it was banned again. Maybe you'd lose one or two decent programs but you'd also get rid of like 20 horrible ones.


If Medvedeva's short program is something one can listen to without getting the urge to claw at their ears I'll be cheering for her again this upcoming season.

I loved her LP. That's just me. I've seen too many programs to Chopin or Firebird or Carmen. I'm glad she's choosing different music.

And I don't mind her literal choreographic interpretations. Most skating programs are a bit too...well, lacking in choreography or just overly vague for me. It's usually just jump, spin, jump, spin, jump, some floundering and arm waving to the beat of the music, end. No one tries to tell a story on the ice like Zhenya.
 
Also, I understand many people don't like her program because "it's the same program like in the last year just with different begin and the end". I agree with that. But I see improvements. I see more speed, more power. I feel the calm before the storm. It's kind of mesmerizing. Even her last FS skate program don't make me feel like this. It's something special. Special little girl with big power in herself. Amazing.
 
I really like Meddie's new programs. I also see some improvement in speed and flow. The jumps look bigger too.

What bores me a little is that we see her practicing 3-3-3's, 3S-3L, 3L-3L, Rippon-jumps, Tano-Rippon combos and now she comes up with the exact same jump layout as last year. And the year before. Not a single change or new challenge! :ohwell:

That 2A-2T-2T combo by the way is not very pretty to watch.

Agree about 2a-2t-2t.

I am sure they training all new combinations everyday. But if you want to clean, pure and fabulous performance - you have to be 100% prepare for this. Physically and psychologically. She might be already ready to do this and put it to the program. But will be better to full and complete be ready for Olympic season with new combinations and ultra complexity than trying it now. We already see improvements, so it's question of time. :)
