Evgenia Medvedeva

Maybe she's actually been working on her lutz. That doesn't look that horrible(from this far), and in the competition it was just barely a !. That's pretty much in line with how several other ladies do it, changing to flat edge right at the very last second which sometimes isn't called.

Of course, she used to have it not getting called despite being obviously e so it shouldn't really affect her scores but it will help with her credibility if she can get it to a pretty good shape.

She really should... think about her axel, though. The technique's poor and the speed's slow. It'd be a shame to ruin a victory due to unnecessarily falling on it in the future.

What? The axel?? It could hardly be much better, only if it were a bit higher. Don't make too much of a fuss about a single mistake. And have you actually seen her 2A from the spread eagle - please do, you won't doubt her technique.

Hmm... Laura Lepistö says her axel technique is very poor in comparison to her other jumps. And she's at least an European champion and won worlds bronze medal too so she probably knows at least something.

Axel's been Evgenia's worse jump since ever, she fell on it the last time too and she says she hates the jump. It's not a single mistake...

Yeah, but this season her axel looks kinda better

Well yeah it's not the ONLY mistake she ever did on the axel, obviously, but if you count how many times she does it right and how many she does it wrong it's really a stretch to say her technique is "poor".
Plus she said that she dropped her focus and that's why she fell - it's not a matter of technique here. And it's so so hard to keep being so focused for the third year in a row with everyone's expectations continuously getting bigger and bigger. Hope she can withstand the pressure - if she can, no one can touch her. :)

Evgenia is a two-time World champion and she says all her jumps are poor. :P
