Watch this. It was well within the 1/4 turn and she didn't pre-rotate so most of the rotations are actually done in the air. I will trust the video evidence more than hearsay. But yeah agreed to not discuss this further. Just showing some video.
I hope Zhenya doesn't participate in GPF to be safe and to heal properly. Broken bones are a serious matter especially for an athlete. The Olympics is more important than another GPF title.

Evgenia literally set a record for PCS at NHK or COR I can't remember. She is getting 10s on a lot of thingswhen she does well. No way can her teammate get those, who is only in her 1st year of senior.

I agree. Have the two of them skate their Short programs back to back in the GPF, and I think it will be obvious who has the hígher PCS. Alina might have flashier jumps and combos, but that’s no good if she’s can’t land them consistently.
I also agree with someone else’s observation that’s Evgenia’s only going to withdraw from the final if Russia is going to be allowed in the olympics. If they won’t be allowed to compete, I think she’s going to go to every competition she can otherwise attend, damn the consequences on her foot.

I think she is serious about going to GPF... poor girl. To be on top of such a pool of talent is not that easy.

I just watched Zhenya’s SP again and it is just magnificent. I can’t comprehend how people could watch that, how people could watch the step sequence, and say she’s over scored in PCS. I am sort of convinced that we might be watching two totally different things. This is her best SP by far.

That performance is just so special to me
just something about it made me watch over and over. So deserving of the first WR in 6 years, no doubt.

I kind of wish that in the Season of Repeated Programs she came back to this program. Last year program would be great without voiceovers as music was gorgeous but 2015/16 FS still is my favourite

Agreed. I'd like to see it with a bit of an improved, more complicated choreo showing off what she's improved upon over the years. That really was a great program.

Zhenya is such an emotional skater. I'd really like her to skate to tango program one day

Her performance is great in that clip, but damn that 60 fps video quality makes it so much better. Too bad only NBC has them

Agreed! She and a certain male Japanese skater have what it takes to pull off a beautiful tango piece. I’ve seen her exhibition piece to Edith Piaf (which is not a tango but still very romantic music) and she was so amazing.But it fit her like a glove

So Zhenya is officially out.
That's got to be hard for her, even though it's the right decision and the smart decision. She's very level-headed and knows what has to get done and I'm proud of her for taking those steps. It's better to be healthy for Euros and Olympics and withdrawing will help her with that.
Our thoughts are with you, Zhenya... I know that you won't let this get the best of you, and your best is so incredible and inspiring.
