no, this is quite old interview, i remember reading it already, definitely not yesterday, they're adding new and old vids here and there though
 
I thought this was an amazing outing for Evgenia, her first competition after the injury.

Less than 2 points between her and Alina, and the free skate is a whole other thing.
So everything still to fight for... and she will fight, we know that!

Can't wait for tomorrow! I'm not even worried if she doesn't win... to be back in this kind of shape is already a "win", in my book. I don't believe in any of that mumbo-jumbo "momentum" nonsense: if she skates clean at Oly's, then IMO nothing can stop her taking home the gold, no question...! :-P
 
When it's too much, remember that competitions are cancelled, enjoy skating and cut the stream when they start announcing scores to preserve your mental health :pray:
 
Zhenya about competing with Carolina: "I respect Carolina very much, she has a lot of experience in international competitions, I watched her a lot, and I can say she taught me to perform." I'm glad that I have a chance to compete with her".

Evgenia is always respectful to other skaters, but in any case - I think anyone who's actually met Carolina, can't help but love and respect her as a person and an athlete... she's just so sweet and friendly and kind to everyone... and there is a lot that other skaters can learn from her, even Evgenia...
 
I'm happy to read some positive pov's about today in here. all confort me. tbh I'm sad (also because I'm a fan of V/M, so sadness doubled) and will have to admit to have had spoiled expectations on Evgenia coming back without any further change and that was quite unrealistic. I hope with all my might she has a clean FS and wins, but if she doesn't I hope all mistakes to be drained here and not at Olys and nothing changes that she's my favorite skater no matter what. Press will sure make fire with this so I'll try to stay a little bit away from news (and the other forum threads. I know, I'm a coward! XD)

I've read some part of it somewhere and I remember, like the part about her believing a bit on amulets etc. This's a reharsh of old and new stuffs I guess.
And my fellows zhenya fans, the media has started trashing Zhenya so please try to stay away from news a bit for your mental health.

what do you mean media trashing Zhenya? I understand some fs "fans" but media? :scratch2:
 
So happy to see her back!
I was crazy nervous watching and my heart skipped a bit many times :)
Taking into account lack of training in the most important time of the season, I think she did a great job to skate with only minor mistake after a serious injury!

Obviously, I concern with growing pace of Alina's PCS but that's was kind of excepted, she did great with finally skating clean SP.

In the beginning of the season, I even wanted Tsarina to break her "winning and unbeatable strike" before OG so it sorts of release a pressure off :)
Therefore, I only wishing our Tsarina a clean FP so it boost her confidence, she is a champion for me always!

And of course good luck to every girl in FP!
And little voodoo dance for Tsarina :ghug:
 
Regarding her jumps, I guess they looked a bit scratchy here because of the nerves mainly. It’s her first time competing in a long time, that is only expected. I remember that video that came out after she withdrew from nationals, and her jumps looked great there.

Initially, I was sad about what happened, but it’s only fair and she’ll come back fighting in the free, that’s for sure. She certainly does not need to win everything and this won’t diminish her past accomplishments.

So happy to see our girl back that’s all :drama:
 
If Alina and Evgenia both skate cleanly in the FS, does Evgenia still have a chance at gold or does the base value of Alina's program make it unlikely?

She still has the chance at gold, her fs at worlds got 154.4 for the same layout, the best fs Alina did is at IDF and got 151, even if they inflate alina's pcs by a whole 2 more pts it's still a lower score. And if Alina get inflated on pcs then Zhenya will get inflated too. So, she still a big chance of winning gold.
