Evgenia Medvedeva

I'm breaking out cold sweat of nervousness . Guess I'll sleep and not watch live.

I also have nerves of steel! I can go to test without studying (cuz I forgot about it)!
Joking aside, Zhenya singing to herself always looks funny xD

The sp was great. shame about 2A as it costed her winning the segment. I wonder if she will be able to win now as Alina's fs is tes-making machine

I dont care about that small mistake. Im just so happy to see our girl back strong and healthy and smiling! Finally I can breath again. This program is everything! So beautiful!

Sigh. As far as I am concerned, today is bad news. Alina's PCS is climbing and this is pretty much what I've been talking about all long. Zhenya's advantage are her PCS but Alina's eating at that difference and fast. If she loses Euros, which is now a definite possibility, we're in a pretty pickle come Olympics.

Fingers crossed she can deliver a clean Free. I think she's recovering wonderfully but there's a bit of a stamina issue I think, though it may be just nerves too. She did great though, I hadn't fully realized how much I missed seeing her compete before she went out on the ice. Go Zhenya, you can do it!

I don't care if she's not first, if the scores were fair, but it's not!
Her fs has lower BV, if alina is cleaned it's gonna be tight and she lost points on sp too :sad21:
I know this is frustrating but we must prepare for the worst :sad21:

for me. It's all about recovery right now. I just glad to see her doing pretty well ALREADY!
She was so emotional today. She missed competitions so much! She even cried after!

Emotionally, sure, I mean I'm so glad to see her do well. She was obviously tense, poor darling so this is a load off her shoulders.

Practically though, it's way more than that. That's the unfortunate truth. Well nothing we can do about it but wish her well ... and perform a small voodoo ritual or two.... :scard8:

Im feeling the same. I'm so relieved to see her back and I was preparing for worst case scenario after the announcement about her injury. Even if she's second here, I won't be sad. She knows how to fight for her first place. I trust her.
(and no one can ever predict what happens at Oly games anyways... )

A few thoughts:
- first of all, I’m so so so happy to have her back and see her healthy and ready to skate her best. I missed her and I’m glad that she will be able to skate healthy at OG :)
- I was expecting a small mistake like the one she did today. She needs a little time to get back into the swing of things, it’s perfectly normal after an injury
- I do fear that her unbelievable consistency may be broken, at least for this season. I mean, it was unbelievable to begin with tbh.
- Alina is the one with the potential to beat her. Evgenia knows this, they train together. I think she knows it’s a possibility and now that she’s been beaten in the SP she will work even harder to avoid it. Still, there is a chance that it might happen. Evgenia has been absolutely unbeaten for 2 straight season, which is something that not even the very best of the best (Yuzu, Yuna) have ever accomplished. We may be entering an era where Evgenia wins 50% of the time, or 75%. We can’t know that, but if this is the case, we have to remember that *that* is how things normally go in this sport. Zhenya has spoiled us to two years of winning every single competition, but that is not the norm for even the best of skaters.
- regardless of what happens, I’m glad she’s out there doing what she loves and I will continue to support her for as long as she skates, because she’s one of a kind :) Davai Zhenya!

Well she doesn't seem as calm as usual today, that partly leads to the mistake for sure. Hope she settles down and slay in fs :sad21:, or if she can't, whatever would happen i'll still be rooting for her.

Agreed. I think what is important here and whatever everyone was watching for was that she was healthy after her injury. She needed to take part in the European Championships and perform to prove to herself and to others that she is okay and ready for the Olympics. She achieved that with her SP. Now, the pressure is off her and she can be the Tsarina again. :) The competitor and champion in her will come out for the FS. You will see. :)
