Evgenia Medvedeva

more media coverage, let the girl rest :palmf:

I agree. But her greatness and skill and personality helped save this olympics for Russia which had a terrible olympics. Ladies figure skating and hockey were the only bright spots for Russia or OAR. But they happen to be the countries 2 biggest sports.

Zhenya needs some time away though and I hope she gets it. How great she is is one thing but she's such a classy girl too.

It's normal, follows every single OM, and though she may be less swamped than Alina, it is still a lot and exhausting. Can't be helped but if you look at the bright side, it gives her exposure and hopefully more sponsors look her way which means a better life for her in the end. She has to grab it now while she can.

Both have worlds next, I have no complain if the season is over but not yet. They have to return to training as soon as possible. There's a short amount of time for rest and I just don't want media the take that time away.
Can't deny the possibility of having more sponsors, I understand it's normal for OM but normally most of them skip competitions after olympics.
Especially for Zhenya who has recently received a mental blow + IOC meetings + hella early in the morning gala practices + gala.

I hope that Zhenya can at least sleep a whole day. She looks somewhat tired in the photos.
I want to trust Eteri and the team, and that they will adjust details of the programs for World champ. (Entrances / Exits, combinations, etc.) I want to see Zhenya win her third consecutive world championship.

Lovely :luv17:

Her entrances/exits are already complicated as it is, that's one of eteri girls' selling point. I don't think they need any adjustment for those. Basically any adjustment is too late, it's in one month, maybe she'll yolo, idk but if alina goes there, there's a slim chance she'd win unless she yolo backloads everything.
Also, I found https://twitter.com/morisnourd/status/968134363958448130, said that Zhenya still has post injury psychological trauma, I'm not surprised, it'll go away in due time but don't know how long , hope it's before worlds.

Well, i think it will be the opposite. The last two days definitely go in this direction (more attention for zhenya than alina). She lost gold but which Free Skate has touched people more;) Just look at her instagramm.

I wouldn't say it so harsh. 17 medals are not bad result considering the circumstances. And there is one name not much heard, Aleksandr Bolshunov, skier who won 4 medals (3 silver, 1 bronze, although some in team). He could be considered saviour too.

I think scott said she "helps save" so it means she contributes a part?

I don’t read Russian at all, but I saw a translstated article interviewing Zhenyas mum on instagram, and it said Zhenya was only 2 pounds when she was born! That’s not even 1000gms! No wonder she is a petite little person.

The other thing I learned today was that the Russian medalists seemed to have been put in upgraded seats on the flight back to Russia, compared to their other compatriots who didn’t medal, who sat in regular aeroplane seats. I’m guessing the Russian government did that as a perk? https://youtu.be/-aCUFbwdIOg
