Evgenia Medvedeva

Well, not exact translation but meaning isn't altered, hardwork is keyword.

Trolls are always there though. Im so tired of them.

Sure but I guess it was in that context that she is injured and still preparing for Olympics( perfomed in NHK it was silly) We are know that she was in pain and her injury wasn't fully healed( at least Eteri knew that)

ps. I don't argue with you:biggrin: Hard work beats talent, when talent doesnt work hard enough

Native russian people should translate us.
"Zhenya doesn't have many of the qualities that other skaters have. She achieves everything through work. Hard work. Patience and work."

Meaning that Zhenya isn't a quick learner, like many others, and is willing to work harder to learn the things that might come easier to others.

I 100% disagree. It may have been her only shot at the OG and she won 2 silver medals. I think she would have regretted not going very, very much. This is not a terrible injury, she just needs 2 months of full rest from jumping.

Well said. Zhenya still almost one so ladies gold medal in the Olympics she was edged out by Zagitova but some people think Evgenia won anyway. She tied Alina in the long program coming off a foot fracture and that's absolutely incredible and saying so much about her. Evgenia may be deeply hurt she did not win the gold medal but the memories she has from the Winter Olympics will last her a lifetime including her being a great teammate to Zagitova. If Alina was scared of Evgenia it she was intimidated by her she wouldn't I've been able to beat her. so Alina zagitova should always be grateful that Evgenia medvedeva has treated her like a little sister and friend instead of a rival who could beat her and surpass her.

You always write how Alina is great. Sorry it is Zhenya fan fest. Do it in Alina

I like your sense of humor.

If she takes a long break without doing any jumps would it be possible for her to learn new technique after she's already healthy? I've heard from interviews with Osmond for example where she says that she had to learn jumps from the very very beginning after her injury. So, theoretically could there be a chance for Evgenia to use this disadvantage and turn it into advantage by trying to fix her lutz?

I love Pan's Labyrinth OST! I imagined Zhenya interpreting this melody, and my god, it is perfect, emotional, magical.

I think Lambiel is a realistic possibility. Daniil choreographed winning programs (Black Swan, Anna Karenina) so maybe they give this pass to him over Ilia. Kukushka was an experiment between Eteri and Zhenya, according to an interview with Daniil, so something good could come out of there. Eteri has a degree in Choreography as well.

I would like to see Zhenya skating a melody like the one mentioned by LittleLary + an FS with Pretty when You Cry by Lana Del Rey or some Björk song, now that voices are allowed. I think songs with female Indie voices look great on Zhenya.

I can't wait for the documentary !!:yahoo:

My baby!!!:sad21: I don't understand how anyone could say that Zhenya has had everything easy. She has had to endure immense pressure these three years, she was injured just before the Olympics, her country was sanctioned, she has literally a lot of hard competition on her own icerink, and she had to keep a cold head, keeping her emotions locked all these 3 years! We all know that, and we love and admire her for her fierceness and hard work. She is even admired by Alina, Trusova, Anna and practically all her companions, because apart from being a sporting reference, she is also a warm human being, sisterly and reliable.

What a great postl especially the last paragraph.

Nyet I dont! I also write what a great person and a great skater Evgenia is and being a great person is more important. She is also a great leader that is undeniable. Evgenia is the leader of this Russian Revolution in ladies figure skating. There are many reasons why she is so beloved by the other Russian skaters.

no. it's different. They were out of ice for more than a year. They were almost started to learn how to skate from the very beginning.

Evgenia's working on her Lz, and on her best days, she manages to do it from slight outside edge. But right now is not her best days because of injury.
And this thing takes YEARS....

And look at Yuzuru's flip... that used to be a lip.
2010 - a crystal clear outside edge on takeoff,
2013 - still slight change of edge before takeoff.
2017 - inside edge. It took a long time for him...

it's not that easy.

I'm not sure if Evgenia's injury is severe enough to need to/be easily able to learn a jump again from scratch. She seems to be doing well and mainly just getting some rest for her foot so it can heal fully and properly, and isn't terribly impeded by the injury. She might need to rebuild some strength or potentially modify technique a bit, but she should be able to resume pretty close to where she is now. Whereas for Kaetlyn, she had a huge mental block in returning to skating, so she was she practically had to learn how to skate and jump again. Plus she full out couldn't skate for more than a year, whereas Evgenia has been skating.

I think you wrote a really good post about Evgenia!
And I agree with you!

Thank you everyone for the answers! I understand that re-learning the lutz with right take-off edge will take a lot of time (or probably won't happen at all because she has doing it her way for so many years) Do you think that when she's healthy she might improve her Lz by stop doing this strange loop-like entry? Like just a little, I have rewatched her W.E FS and it didn't look that bad/obvious there. I hope you won't take this comment as bashing/hating because it really is not. I use the opportunity to discuss this topic here since its a fan fast and no haters will be interrupting with some nonsense stuff about her.

Thank you.

I think Zhenya can come back strong next season refreshed with new programs and renewed enthusiasm for her sport. Taking off a few mnths to heal is smart.

I think it was a wise decision. It saddens me to know that her foot is still hurting, I will miss her in Worlds (maybe I will don't watch worlds) but she must recover!. The season was horrible and she fought until the end, all audience fell in love with her in the Olympics with a historical FS and that nobody will take it away.
zhenya, recover and return the next season more fierce than ever!

I found a montage with the music of Pan's Labyrinth and the choreography of Meditation Thais and it's beautiful !!

I look forward to the next season and the new programs

I love you, Evgenia

I know Evgenia's probably very disappointing, but I'm so proud of her, maybe more than if she had won the third world gold, because she's learning to put her health first and do what SHE needs to in regards to her skating and her injury. It's a hard lesson to learn, but if anyone can do, the little bearcub can!

Wait, what? I provided an accurate translation, in case you mean that.

Because there's no need for your misleading interpretation. She achieved things through hardwork doesnt mean she's a slow learner, she just doesn't have things that some other skaters naturally have so she has to acquire what she lacks through learning/training.
Like men lack wings so they went through decades of research to create airplanes.

Which is exactly what I meant. I didn't mean "slow learner" in a negative way...
