It might have been faked very easily. I'm not saying that it was faked, but showing that screen doesn't prove anything at all for certain. It just proves that Eteri said that she didn't get any answers, nothing more.

Probably because at the end of the day Evgenia and Eteri's relationship was a "business deal" who started when Evg was eight. But I guess people expected more from her since they had this "mother-daughter" bond (lol).

It was never a true “mother-daughter” bond. Zhenya was an extension of herself. I mean Eteri has essentially stated this. Zhenya does all the hard work and Eteri lives vicariously. It was never really about what was best for Zhenya, it was always what Eteri wanted for herself.

Zhenya is far from untouchable. This is Russia. Eteri said what she said about Zhenya on national tv. really bad things about Zhenya. it wont end good for Zhenya. no chance

What bad things did Eteri say about her pupil of 11 years? I cant believe it. Its sad if this great tandem ends badly.

Zhenya has changed the description on her Instagram page. Now there're words "There is no democracy on my page! Insults - block"

She did that yesterday or the day before, before this interview with Eteri came out. I do not think the two incidents are related.

Buckle up, this is about to turn into a real shitstorm. I was never expecting things would turn out like this, I think everyone here assumed Eteri knew. Mind you, I don't believe a word she's saying. In the end though, Eteri is just digging herself further into the ground...this is pathetic

I hope this shitstorm as you put it doesnt hurt the close friendship between Zhenya and Alina. But I fear it will. I have never seen 2 equals in figure skating such good friends. I hope it stays that way.

Also this bit from Eteri about Zhenya askng Alna to stay in juniors 1 more year cant be true can it? Good heavens.

I feel a deep disappointment, and I do not want to imagine how disappointed Evgenia and her family are. They trusted her fully.
I just hope Evgenia knows how to handle this and then get away from all that toxicity. She has a heart of steel, so I guess she will recover.
I think the poor girl was manipulated for many years and that is why she defended her coach so much. Now she is older, she analyzes, and discovered that something was wrong.
Evgenia deserves a better mental health, personalized attention, training individually will help her a lot, especially now that she have a stress injury.
Nor do I see Orser as a god, but the individual approach and the refinement to small technical details are a good option for her. Above all, because now she can decide even her music and choreographer ! something that did not happen before. Now I'm dying to know the new programs and layout !

At this point I don't believe absolutely anything that comes out of Eteri's mouth, all her accusations without foundation. I honestly believe that Eteri will end up prey or in a mental hospital, since that act is not of a normal person.

I've been lurking on this Fan Fest ever since I fell in love with Evgenia at the OGM and started reading and watching everything I could find about her. I made an account today just to post. Unfortunately I expected Eteri to freak out like this. I've read and watched a number of interviews with her (I understand Russian too, but don't read it so great, lol) and noticed how she was always very rude and critical about basically all skaters that had left her.Just like with Evgenia, she was divulging personal conversations and other details about training, criticising them for how they left and claiming that they didn't tell her in advance and she only found out from TV or media or RusFed etc etc, criticising all their weaknesses, complaining they had disrespected her and so on, even criticising their parents, just everything! I did not see one single past student who she spoke positively of or seemed to have an amicable relationship with. She is clearly a talented coach, but as a person, she is clearly very difficult, vindictive and stubborn. I think I even remember reading somewhere that some Rusfed official made an offhand "jokey" comment about how Eteri is a very gifted coach but she is hard to manage.

She has a very strong personality and this is why she's been so successful with young girls who she raises and moulds "from the ground up" who worship her and accept every word she says unquestioningly and allow her to control them. The relationship she has with her skaters is not one of equals and collaborators, but one of the master and the supplicant. Both Zenya and Alina have said many times how much she influences them not just in skating but in life and how much they look up to her. She gets off on that. As soon as a skater grows up and knows her own mind and tries to assert her own individuality, Eteri's dynamic no longer works so well. And she's a proud and ruthless woman, once she perceives you have "crossed her" it's all out war. Zenya has always worshipped her and respected and given her 100% credit for all her successes and always spoken so warmly of her that I hoped maybe there was enough warmth there that Eteri would not turn on her. But sadly I feel like there was never really a chance for this parting to be amicable. Eteri knows no other way, she takes any student wanting to leave as a personal insult, and yes, I appreciate that a student leaving would be hard for a coach (it's also very hard for Zenya) but a decent, reasonable coach would handle this professionally and maturely, Eteri could not. It's like in any field, there are certain people who are really difficult and idiosyncratic and have terrible personalities but they are allowed to flourish and receive adulation because they are talented and successful. Eteri has been successful so she has been given leeway to act like this. But surely it's enough now, it's disgusting that she is being allowed by RusFed and Russian media to lash out at a young girl merely because her pride and ego have been hurt by Zenya leaving. It's also horribly unprofessional and anywhere else but Russia a coach that acted like this would face serious consequences.

Phew, it felt good to get that off my chest. Now Zenya sees her mentor's true colours. I hope she is strong enough to put this toxic drama behind her and make a fresh start.

Wow what a first post!

Zhenya will leave a lasting legacy with Eteri and Sambo 70. Zhenya helped make Sambo 70 great. She should be proud of all she has done with much more to do.

I think rusfed will get Eteri to zip it and they will have a peaceful parting of the ways tomorrow. Maybe Eteri is acting extra um...intense because Med told everyone 2 months ago she was staying. Like most of us I have been up and down with Eteri. She is wrong to go after Zhenya like that. She is 44 Med only 18. But her second daughter leaving her like this after saying she was staying has cut this great coach so deeply causing her to lash out at Zhenya the way she did. Big mistake by Eteri.

Zhenya and Eteri were together for an amazing 11 years so the pain for both with this public breakup has to be brutally raw. Eteri is scared and defensive bu Med leaving. Zhenya is acting more like an adult than Eteri is and she's 26 years younger. Amazing.

I hope this is the end of it and that monday goes well for all concerned. I am sad for Zhenyas pain. This has to be hard on her. I hope today was the worst of it. Keep your fingers crossed.

How was Alina brought in? Because Eteri allegedly said Zhenya asked Eteri to keep Alina in juniors? Unconfirmed. If true it should only be private info. Big mistake by Eteri. Don't be a snitch. I am sure Med has some tidbits on Eteri to tell but doubt she will.

Just saying... it's not like Eteri dotted on Zhenia much before she started winning. Remember Eteri dotted on Yulia as much when Yulia was still her darling. But the thing is, coaches are NOT parents to the skaters, no matter what. In the end, coach-student is just a business deal. And like all deals, it can break up.
