Evgenia Medvedeva

Let's not read too much into Alena's words, she's young and I'm sure she has a good relationship with all of her teammates :) It's nice that she doesn't show any resentment towards Zhenya though!

There were dozens "X or Y" questions, and she didn't mind answering them, including:

"Medvedeva or Zagitova?"
"Zhenya."
...
"Polya or Zhenya?"
"Polya."

I guess she wasn‘t even answering on skating terms. Just who she feels closer to. Which is okay, really. Everyone has their personal preferences.

When will she perform in another show? Perhaps we will have the opportunity to watch the other program  And if it's as good as the first one...

1-3/6 in KANAZAWA, also FaOI, I guess it could be the same program.
8-10/6 in NAGANO, Heroes & Future 2018, I guess the program could be a little bit different:think:

Catching up with everything...

Looking again at Zhenya's FaOI program... Yes, there is still the 'Averbukh feeling', but her spins look more powerful than before, and I wonder if her jumps will get more powerful, too, as she gets healthier and stronger  I also noticed the way she was moving her arms was more expressive than in many of the past programs. Just subtle things which hopefully can give us a little insight on what's to come :)

As for her being 'fuller', I bet Brian told her to eat :P Seriously, though, I noticed that she looks thinner with the grey/lilac dress so it might be an impression caused by the red dress. In any case, I guess we should expect her to build up a bit more muscle, Canadian-style.

Regarding her artistry and miming, this is what Brian said about her during the Olympics to the New York Times: “She is such a fierce competitor; I love that,” said Brian Orser, the coach of the two-time Olympic men’s champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan. “There’s a very youthful passion about her skating. She’ll find a little story and she embraces it and puts it out there. It’s not over the top, super-sophisticated stuff; it’s stuff for an 18-year-old.” Which means, he's obviously not put off by her miming and expressions!

Finally, doesn't surprise me what Kostornaia said - Zhenya was the 'big sister' for all those girls, including Alina. Trusova's Makkachin tissue box was given by Zhenya :)

Well, that‘s just my humble opinion but I love Zhenya‘s performances that were made by Averbukh. Her SP from 2017 is one of my favourite programs ever! It‘s just unique in the style and way of how the skates are used to create a story. What‘s wrong with a little bit of diversity? It‘s not like suddenly everybody does programs with miming, it‘s just her and it‘s her way of expressing emotions and this should be fine. After all: In theatres actors use exaggerated expressions as well, compared to say... movies. Nobody complains about that. It‘s art and that‘s why I don‘t get why she‘s so heavily criticized for it. Figure skating just IS a sport that focuses heavily on the ATHLETIC as on the ARTISTIC component. That‘s the way it works. So why bash somebody who comes up with unique stories, expresses her emotions on the ice while also having solid technique to back that up? Just why. I know everyone can have favourites and I know not everyone likes the same style of skating but it‘s not fair to call her a bland skater just because personally one doesn‘t get her. So I don‘t want her to change her style, to be honest. I want her to be the way she wants to. Just because she‘s already great the way she is.

(And that doesn‘t say she shouldn‘t improve her flutz.)

Oh and I don‘t think she looks that „fuller“. It might just be the dress. But if she gains some muscles it won‘t hurt her. We‘ll have to see her jump more often to really judge on that. But the 3S and 3L were fine from what I saw. And she‘s been back to jumping only three weeks. I‘m so excited to see her new programs and the way she evolves with Orser. Can‘t wait for the new season already! :D

I don't find that kind of news that reassuring, to be honest. I'd prefer Zhenya to be the only student so Orser could focus on her :drama:

That's never been what TCC is all about. They've always had many skaters at once, especially in the past few years. If Yuzu and Javi became so good was because they were inspired by each other and by the amazing environment they train in. If Zhenya chose TCC is not becayse she's gonna be the only skater there, but so that she can also be inspired and grow in such a positive environment! Also, Brian isn't the only coach there! There's Tracy, Briand and others, and all of them work with the skaters on different things!

Exactly! Brian and Tracy already had a lot of students with them before she even moved. I also want to add that Brian may be someone’s coach but Tracy might not, like Gabby. They all have different pairs of coaches. It will be fine.

Yes obviously I wasn't serious  Although I really don't find particularly reassuring that so many skaters appear to go there and that they might be unable to give Zhenya all the attention she needs, I'm probably worried for nothing ;)

I totally agree, Zhenya has so much to learn from both the new skaters and tcc veterans. Not to mention, Boyang and Jason are literal rays of sunshine, I'm sure their positive auras will help her get comfortable there in a short amount of time.

Do not worry. Brian and Tracy are more than capable, and again, they have different combos of coaches at TCC. Yuzu, Lil Bet and Zhenya have Brian and Tracy, Gabby has Barker and Brian, JUn-hwan just Brian ecc ecc

This offseason‘s outright crazy! But well, that‘s because of the Olympics. Things always change after Olympic Games. Coaching wise, etc.
