Evgenia Medvedeva

She's so wise and smart
I just look forward to her future career in figure skating and beyond... I know she'll be successful no matter what she chooses after figure skating.
I dream her to work for big international organizations, such as United Nations, to fight for a cause.

Her words about Russia not being her home are going to bring controversy, I think.

She looks like she's really enjoying herself! That's awesome :) Plus, I really love her black lacey training shirt!

She said her home is where her family and close people are, but she added that she will miss Russia and will always compete for her country!

Haters are always gonna find something to bush her. She was speaking in English, it's hard to find right words, her point was that the "home is where family are". Plus she added I am going to Toronto to continue to skate for Russian Federation, I mean seriously if she gets any 'hate' it's just haters, I am confident every sensible person understands her words in right way.

I Am not sure if you're referring to me, but I'm not a hater.

No, I am not referring to you, sorry if it sounds like that, just saying we don't need to worry about it, to me her words were clear and for any English speaker as well. However media loves to mess up initial words, translate it and make up a headline, but we can't change it...

she never said Russia wasn't her home. she said home isn't a place but it's where her family and friends are

Yes. There's a saying in English: "Home is where the heart is." She's basically just echoing that sentiment, but she clearly loves Russia, and it will always be her country.

Looks promising!

The interview is very interesting, and she definitely seems motivated as hell  I don't know why they put subtitles in the first video though, we understood her very well and they didn't put them in the new video... :scratch2:
"Funny" that in the video she doesn't mention her coach that helped her during the hard times, but she does in the article. I'm not sure the Olympic Chanel really aware of the drama in Russia :slink:

It is a mistake in article, she really in an interview spoke about "close people", and in article have replaced on "coach".

She did spoke about "close people", but she also might have mentioned her coach and this part may have been cut from the final video. But either way, why didn't they make the same between the video and the article? It would have been easier ;)

First short video was a preview for social media. It's common to put subtitles in this case as many people watch videos on mobile devices and sometimes they do it in silence mode when sound isn't available so subtitles are provided. I know that BBC does similar thing

Oh man, Zhenya's interview... :love::love::love:

She just seems so happy, so confident, so focused. I think Toronto will be a great experience for her.

She looks so pretty! her face without makeup looks very childish. I love her loose hair, although I also like her classic combat hairstyle a lot, in fact I copied it hahahaha.

How lucky she has landed all the jumps in the rehearsals and events, let's hope she continues to progress, she has not done them for a long time.

Go, Zhenya!

That combat style is a timeless classic. She would look at home in almost any Western culture in any era, from ancient Rome to modern-day Moscow; it's very elegant. Seeing her with it down and with no makeup or different makeup is quite a difference, though. I thought she looked like a pretty girl on the ice in the Olympics (my introduction to her), but when I tuned in to her Insta story from her hotel room when she was packing her clothes after the Kukushka EX with her hair down, I was surprised at how beautiful she really is. Some young man will be quite lucky some day. :luv17:
