Evgenia Medvedeva

idf is much tougher than sc, that's for sure! there are not only japanese ladies and caro and bradie but also maria and she was second at the gpf last year.
if rika lands her jumps she wins, but duh she's the unpredictable one. but she has everything i'm so exited abt her debut, if jsf won't bet on her they are crazy

What I'm trying to say is that this "danger" we will not see in the GP, do not be deluded. This is the debut of Kihira, and her nerves will be 100, just remember the first GP of Evgenia and Zagi, both fell. Why should we think that Kihira will be clean in her debut? especially if she plan to do a 3A-3T. I would suffer for that only in Worlds, but not in a GP.

I care only for people who have experience, good PCS and high GOE: and that's our Mrs. Kostner.
In fact Wakaba has already made herself a small base of 70 pcs, I suppose (and I hope, I really wish it) that from now on her PCs will be better, and she will be better rewarded in her jumps, so Kostner and Wakaba >>> Kihira, in terms of direct threat. For me, Kihira is only a potential threat in the final events.

I wouldn’t underestimate Rika. Her PCS will obviously not be as high as Zhenya’s, but her TES could be. Zhenya needs to be prepared: what if Rika was in fact clean at her debut, with her amazing combo? Nobody can be written off and I don’t think Zhenya will just breeze through the assignments. But that’s the beauty of it! It’s a new challenge and it’ll be so interesting

I trust more in the steel nerves of our little Evgenia than in any possible 3A or unstable quad, sorry not sorry. Well, Panekova ascended, and Kostner is still here, for PCS and ability to collect GOE, Kostner is a much bigger threat, especially with the new system.

I mean just look at these quotes...for an 18 year old, I'm continuously being blown away by that type of poise.

Tuktamysheva could also be a factor in Canada. She looks in good shape in her last instagram skating posts.
Anything interesting about Yamashita?

For France, i see the field a little bit easier. Kostner will highly likely not skate clean, Sotskova is not that strong, Tennel has not the PCS...

I'm not underestimating her, I'm just realistic. With this I don't say that Zhenya should go through life carefree, on the contrary. I just think that making a storm just because Rika plans to do a 3A-3T is somewhat exaggerated, since the season is just beginning and there are always many falls at the beginning, especially in the debutantes. As I explained earlier, for me, a greater direct threat, in these specific events, are people who already have experience and a reputation, such as Kostner and now also Wakaba, who faces Zhenya as a world silver medalist.

But that's just my analysis, obviously we should wait to see what will really happen in the first event so we can make some kind of prediction.;)

Tuktamysheva has the best 3A in the field and she can get +5, if she land it in and stays constant, it will be dangerous, and she said she plans to focus on improving her art.
Yamashita is more memorable in my head, because her jumps are giant.
What do you think about Marin? I had forgotten that she was in France too. We'll see if she surprises us. But I think in France, Marin and Mihara will do better than Yamashita, I don't know, I don't trust the ex-juniors a lot, I have to see them in action as a senior first.

We can speculate many things, but only after the first GP can we evaluate better, especially to see how impressive the new points system is.

Zhenya has just uploaded a story to IG. She looks serene. I don't care if she loses some future event like Worlds or GPF (I really do not think she loses a GP), she is working hard and has such a strong mentality, that makes me believe she can do everything.

I really hope she’s joking about that dinner...

Don't think about it so hard. She is in a completely new environment with new coaches so she's definitely not keeping the same diet that she used to. :) Please have faith in her. She's already been gaining some muscle compared to before.

Yeah you’re right, I’m too worried

Evgenia Medvedeva is the reason figure skating has become one of my favorite sports. My favorite sport before I found Medvedeva at the Olympics was wrestling. That is because wrestlers have to most incredible winning mindset. A world class wrestler will do ANYTHING to win. When they lose they will use that loss to push themselves even further. Dan Gavle is a great example. When I saw Zhenya at the Olympic I witness a drive to win that I had never seen and reminded me of a wrestler. She will use the loss and the hater to comeback and win at Tokyo. The GP is just a step in between.

That's really nice. Welcome to the fandom!

So, Zhenya got two very tough GP assignments. However, I think it might play in her favour - nobody deals better with pressure and competition than Zhenya! I bet she's even more motivated now ;)
