Evgenia Medvedeva

and already she is getting hate for it :(
this girl can never do anything without getting undeserved hate, I don't understand why some people can't just resist the temptation to be mean to such a sweet girl :sad4:

It's so silly, right? She shows how randos message her calling her a traitor (lol) and thanks the people who actually have her back and she gets hate.

As for the CS, I would think that her doing ACI is the most likely possibility at this point. We should know the entries next week.

So given they haven't sent any Russian ladies to either US Classic or Lombardia Trophy, Zhenya could be the first out the gate with a Challenger (and whoever else gets sent to ACI and those at Ondrej Nepala, if they opt to send skaters there)

I love the new hairstyle- the wispy bangs seem very French to me, and I can see them working well with the Orange Sky SP.

I also think it sets her apart, a bit in the way Stolbova’s style does. It’s not as much of a statement as Stolbova’s, but it does seem a bit different to the styles worn by many of the other senior Russian ladies.

Yeah, that was my initial reaction, too. I think she looks really cute in that picture. I don't know if she will look good from all angles or not, but if she doesn't like it, it won't take that long before she can tie them back or do something else with them. I think it will be fine, though. Good for her, choosing a fresh look to go with her new coach and musical styles; she wasn't kidding when she said we'd see a whole new Zhenya this season! :yahoo:

Somebody posted a picture on Instagram with zhenya, Jason Brown, and Gabrielle daleman all having new hairstyles for the new season. Maybe it is an Orser team trend.

Zhenya's new hair is very cute! I think now with her hair braided and done up for competitions she might look not as serious, but more happy (if that makes sense...) (o˘◡˘o)

I loved the new hairstyle! She looks young and adorable. Very kawaii! Before she kind of looked serious(which fit her programs). Looking forward to seeing her skate this season! :luv17:

Sports.ru is filled with toxic messages how ‘she did it first’ with Eteri and my heart is just breaking :( this must be so hard for her

Zhenya posted a dialogue with a person who said that she betrayed them. She asked who this person was and got a reply that person loved and supported her.
So she posted in the next story that she knows her true fans personally and grateful that people like that are close to her. And not those who "change shoes in a jump" meaning quickly change opinions like that "fan" who accused her of betrayal.
She never meant that she exclusively grateful to fans she personally know, nothing like that.

the famous Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova has lived and trained in the United States since she was 7 years old. Maria is 31 now. She never changed. Russian tennis players and many other Russian athletes have trained and lived abroad for many many years. I don't see why this should be an issue with Zhenya. But it is even though she's only lived and trained in Canada for a couple months. Some people have been very critical of her and we have to remember she's only 18. I hope she can block a lot of this out and that she has moved on with her life and career.

You shouldn't pay attention to weirdos from sports.ru, they're grade A toxic idiots. She was already getting hate back when she was undisputed #1 and bringing home every gold medal. Many people there made fun of her "dramatic acting" and pantomime. It was always a mess for her there. Now that she left for Canada, they're just using that as a new way to come after her. I don't even think those people are mad about her leaving Russia. They're just pathetic bored people with no lives. And i believe Zhenya is strong enough to deal with them.

We already know her competitive programs so i'm now curious of what her EX is gonna be. Do you guys think she's gonna use one of the many EXs she performed in Japan this summer or she'll come out with a new one? I really liked Memory (from FAOI) and Windmills of your mind.

I think we'll get a new one. Everything else is new: her coach, her choreographer, her musical styles, her hair, probably some of her technique; why wouldn't her EX be new, too? Since I am going to see her at Skate Canada, I would like a Kukushka, but I doubt if she'll ever skate to that again. It is my favorite, though.

When I had bangs I would pin them back when I exercised or played tennis. Bangs grow quickly though so I wonder if she will keep them trimmed for the season or grow them out

Toxic people are the absolute worst. No one should give them a second of their time. Block and ignore and just live her best life in Toronto. Can’t wait to see the new fresh programs

Yeah, sports.ru is a dump and I'm sure it's not a website she pays attention to herself. It worries me more how much spiteful garbage people write directly to her on instagram and twitter. That's something she actually sees and, though she seems strong enough to handle it or maybe can even channel the anger as motivation fuel, dealing with these things still takes emotional energy. I hope she's learned to shut herself off from it when it gets too much.

And I'm betting on a new EX! Maybe even several new ones. That's something she always seems to enjoy and rarely repeats. She already said she's probably retiring the Windmills program, btw.

I agree! As much as I love Zhenya's intense, tragic programmes (like Nocturne and Anna K), I'm looking forward to seeing a 'happier' Zhenya on ice!
