About RusNats it's TAT's idea as she convinced Yagudin to skip it in the year he won Olympics. Personally I think it's crucial for Evgenia to participate in Nationals. Many of those who are against her see her move to Canada as stab against Russian figure skating. If she skips Nationals it will just give them next reason to see her as a traitor who turned her back to her Motherland

oh my gaaawd so Alina got Madoka and Zhenya got Homura? That makes me unreasonably happy. And a bit sad that they're currently unlikely to do a joint promo.

I agree. I think she has to go, especially this year. I think she has a good chance of doing well there too. I think the dynamic will all change next year when the quad girl (s) become Seniors - I hope it doesn't though

As an anime fan, this makes me happy and sad at the same time. And here's my opportunity to info dump: for people who don't know, Madoka Magica is a magical girl anime, the same genre as Sailor Moon. Although it's a rather tragic and dark spin on the genre in comparison to how it usually goes. The character Alina played is the titular Madoka, who's pumpkin spice and everything nice, and Zhenya seems to be Homura, mysterious and intimidating, who seems to be the antagonist at the beginning of the series but there's a lot more to it. I highly recommend this show for if you want to cry a lot.

I think it's perfectly good for Zhenya. She has played many matured characters before, like Anna Karina, so that bit more sophistication, mysteriousness, and sensitivity should work well with her. Even if the character is partially the antagonist.
She did play Sailor moon when she was at a younger age. She doesn't need to play that innocent little girl anymore at age 19.
We can leave the innocent nice girl character to the 16 year old girl who cries after falling on jumps in a test skate.

I don't know about the Madoka thing, sounds like a conspiracy theory but who knows.

Looking at the costume again, I doubt it could be for a competition because the skirt looks big and heavy and Olga making her competition dresses would also be dangerous because she couldn't go back for adjustments\fittings\ecc. Not to mention it doesn't really fit the vibe of either program?

I believe Hanyu gets his costume done in Japan, so maybe it's not that hard? I am very much hoping that she will keeps the same dress maker because the dresses she had were beautiful.
