This would up her BV by 0,64 :) And the combo 2A would be getting a triple jump's GOE

I'm on the train and I don't really have head to count base values while travelling so I have a request: is somebody willing to think about layout without 3-2-2 but with 3(2)-1-3 instead. For years I hated 3-2-2 combos. They look ugly and skaters (not only Zhenya) lose speed significantly while doing it

Guys, someone posted on FSO a footage of Zhenya doing a 2A3Lo!

Apparently, a Canadian TV channel is doing a fluffy piece on her...

yeah zhenya!

being able to tack on a good triple loop on her double axel says a lot about the improvement of her double axel.

TSN is a Canadian cable sport channel.

TSB shares the broadcast rights for Skate Canada International with CTV which is a regular channel.

It sounds like TSN is preparing the piece as part of their SCI programming. It's not likely to be totally fluffy as they are a serious sport channel.

It's likely to be linked to the TSN Skate twitter account sometime next week. Evgenia's fans might wish to keep their eye on that feed as the season progresses.

Oh, wow... is that really Zhenya doing this combo? That height and distance on her 2A is so good! If anyone had told me I‘d say that about Zhenya‘s axel once, I‘d have believed them to be crazy. And the 3Lo looks so smooth. Great. I was worried about the consistency of her loop, since she‘s had troubles both with it both at test skates and ACI, fearing it might be because of her back problems. But if she‘s training it regularly, even tacking it onto new combos, she must be fine! Really relieving. I‘m so excited and nervous for SCI... But seeing this somewhat reassured and surprised me at the same time. Zhenya‘s being Zhenya again. How could you doubt that girl?

Just a question for those of you who know the math: Would a 2A-3Lo combo be worth it to add to her layout pointswise? But maybe she‘s just training it and not intending to put it in her programs yet.

In theory yes, but it would be much more beneficial for her to do a 3f-3lo instead and then do a 2a-3t. There would have to be a lot of rearranging with the layout. I think she’s just practicing it, probably putting a 3lo on the end of all her jumps to get it consistent.

The fact that her double axel is that huge and she can go right up into that 3lo is a very good sign.

I was thinking the same, maybe she is training it and hoping to do a loop after a flip or lutz. Either way very exciting!

Is an increase in .64 a lot in skating score?

I agree. Probably the same way she did with her 3T, training to tack it onto everything so that she can comfortably add it to her combo if something goes wrong. Only if the combos are stable she will add it to her programs I think. So, maybe we‘ll see 3F-3Lo combo by the time Nationals are around or Worlds. Anyway, I don‘t care as much about her layout as about knowing she‘s healthy and her back isn‘t troubling her. I know Yuna couldn‘t do 3Lo because of her back pain so when I saw her struggling with it and removing her biellmann as well I was worried. So it‘s good to see her like this.

I'm so excited to see this new jump! even if she's just training and not putting it on competition.

I think 0.64 it's not much, but the important thing bc of the new +5 GOE rule is that she would be increasing 2A max GOE to a 3Lo GOE

I was stalking twitter on my way to work and I found a tweet with these layouts:

3lz
2a
2a
3f-3lo
3f-3t
3s-2t-2lo
3s

3lz

3s
3f-3t
3f-3t
3s-2t-2lo

3f-3t
3f-3t
3s-2t-2lo
3lo

I don‘t think the second one would work. She‘d be repeating 3T, 3F and 3S and only doing one 2A.

After reading it over, me either. I’d love is she’d do Wakaba’s layout from worlds last year, but switch the two 3lz-3t for two 3f-3t. And of course she’d do the lutz once as Wakaba does the flip once.

3s-2t-2lo

technically it would be best to put the -3T or -3Lo combo on a 2A if she could
like so:

3Lz
2A-3T
2A-3Lo
3S
3F-2T-2Lo
3F
3Lo

obviously that wouldn't happen though

I don‘t think the second one would work. She‘d be repeating 3T, 3F and 3S and only doing one 2A.

I'd probably recommend for her a layout of

3lz
3f-3lo
2a
2a
...
3f-3t
3s-2t-2lo
3lo

(Then if she misses the loop she can just change her combos around either adding a toe/loop to a 2a or rearranging the combos in the second half e.g. 3s-3t-2lo and 3lo-2t depending on her capabilities so she doesn't loose too many points.)

2a looks gorgeous, the distance is amazing. I love her 3Lo combos. She's done so many unusual combos and I love them all.

I'd probably recommend for her a layout of

3lz
3f-3lo
2a

3f-3t
3s-2t-2lo

I like it. Especially the fact that her last jump is originally not in combo so she can add a second jump in case something goes wrong.

ACI jump BV was 45,59
Layout 3f3lo combo:
3lz
3f-3lo
2a
2a
...
3f-3t
3s-2t-2t
3lo

Jump BV would be 46,13. With 3S2T2lo= BV 46,57

layout 2a3lo
2A3Lo
3S
3Lz
2A
...
3F3T
3F2T2T
3Lo

Jump BV 46,23. With 3F2T2lo 46,67. With 3F2lo2lo 47,11.

In theory yes, but it would be much more beneficial for her to do a 3f-3lo instead and then do a 2a-3t.
No, BV would be lower.
