Did her flutz improve? I need an expert opinion!

If she keeps throwing those 3S so close to the boards I will get a heart attack![]()
It's a standard NHL sized hockey rink.I read somewhere that the rink in the venue is smaller than the usual rink.
I expected her to score well over 140 and win the event but she was somewhat underscored due to minor deductions probably because she was not in the final group. The judge panel was harsh on her and her GOE scores for most jumps were only between 0.6 and 1.3, when she could have gained more.

Many skaters are used to Olympic sized rinks which are larger, but in North America skate on NHL sized ones.
That said, some have said that the corners are unusually tight there.

I was surprised to see that the 3S+3T did not get any 4s. Her 2As scored well, but to me the first 2A was better than the second one, yet the GOE on the second was higher than the first.
I am torn about the 3Ls in her programs. I fully understand the sentiment that she should remove at least 1 3L. However, it really looks like her team deliberately put them there because they want her to get used to jumping them in competition. Brian himself said Evgenia has done many clean 3Ls in practice. I just read Brian said that they could create programs that would let Evgenia win specific competitions now, but he reaffirmed that their plan for Evgenia is long-term, rather than short-term.
That all makes sense. But they were also probably banking on Evgenia not having made that big of a mistake in her SP at Skate Canada, which now makes her next competition a must-win. So, I am interested about the team's next move.
In the end, I think her team knows better - I think her team cares about her and supports her aspirations. So I think they will make the right choice for her. But in the meantime, with her place in the GPF at stake, it presents an interesting scenario for her team.
Uhm. It was built and is used for an AHL team, so it has to meet the NHL minimums. Some of the skaters commented something to the effect that the rink is narrower than the usual NHL rink, like by an inch and a half. That's why people were like so close to the boards, even in the exhibition.
I wonder about the choreographer, too. It‘s a wonderful program and she looks so free. Like old but new Zhenya at the same time. I‘m warming up to her new style but this is ... wow. :luv17:
Ah it would be really great if someone could translate all of it ^^here's an interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgigxmKN2FI where Zhenya tells the story behind her new ex. She says she's done everything herself! the choreo, the costume, etc
And she says she and Kostov are just friends.
A great interview!! Very informative
