Evgenia Medvedeva

Thank you! So it‘s some kind of diet drink? Interesting.

@Nervosa: Of course we are! Opportunities to earn money are always great! ;) And especially for Zhenya who‘s living abroad now it could actually be really important. And Zhenya is just great for advertisements in general. She‘s expressive, intelligent, energetic, beautiful, fresh and young. I could imagine her doing ads for a lot of brands. :luv17:

Edit: Or are you talking about a different project? I‘m not too familiar with on ice perspective, who are they?

On Ice Prespectives is an Instagram (https://instagram.com/oniceperspectives?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=12qnfvke4o3c1) and YouTube account that posts short clips of skaters training on and off the ice. They are NA focused (started off with just Americans but now includes Canadian rinks, he was just up at Gadbois).

The footage OIP shoots is very raw and real, but in super good quality as he follows them around the ice. Jordan’s work is really good but OIP is a pet project since I think he also goes to college part time

It’s not so much a diet drink as a drink that aids digestion, promotes metabolism, and helps circulation, etc. There are versions that claim to help you lose weight but I don’t think she’s promoting that kind. This is supposed to just be a “casual health drink” I think

Yep OIP is definitely a new project, but it's gaining some traction as Jordan gotten invitations to film at a variety of competitions and events relatively quickly, including the Thank You Canada tour -- there are some cool clips with Tessa/Scott, Patrick Chan, etc. Jordan also coaches and does shows. He was a international competitor for the U.S. in ice dance -- I remember watching him a few years back.

It looks like it was a super short visit on his way to film the next stop of the Thank You Canada tour. So we might only get clips with Jason (that's who is in the IG story) and not the others, but he's in Canada a ton now because of the tour, so if not this time around maybe another time!

Sounds good and apparently it‘s really tasty. I have heard nothing about this company before that‘s why I was curious. But she‘s an athlete and she’s looking after herself and I‘m sure she wouldn‘t accept to promote something that is bad for one‘s health.

It‘s apparently a very well-known company in Japan so it sure is a good opportunity for Zhenya. Would be interesting where you can see this ad? In the streets, on TV? Japanese fans have to watch closely for us.

Thank you, that sounds really interesting. I do hope they make a collaboration with Zhenya one time.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed this, but when TSL did their Skate Canada recap, they mentioned that Sandra Bezic has not been given the time to fine tune the short program with Zhenya. The one dude, David?, kind of implied that there may be too many people working with Zhenya and that her mom is overly involved too. Did anyone else get that impression?

I never noticed Zhenys‘s mom lol other than in a few documentaries and in some photos. She seems like a reasonable woman from what I saw. So far, I think David, Brian and Tracy mostly work with Zhenya + Paige on her spins. Sandra has clearly been involved with the SP and both have shared their appreciation pf each other. It‘s normal that during the first time more people need to work with Zhenya, there‘s a lot of things to do. I believe that there‘s always a true part in implications and rumours. In this case it could be that they were more focused on the FS this one month. It would make sense because the biggest changes we saw were during the free program. I can easily imagine that there simply wasn‘t enough time to make the necessary improvements on choreography for the SP.

About the issue with her mother we have to remember that those guys were the ones who stated Eteri told Zhenya to go make babies which Zhenya later said was nothing but lies. They often make things up. It might be true that Sandra and Zhenya didn‘t have time to work on the SP as much as they would have liked but in no way do I think did this happen intentionally. And Zhenya‘s mom was always in the background, I don‘t know where they‘d get such ideas. What exactly did they say?

But if I‘m honest: I think this is bs.

I didn't hear anything about her mom... but I did hear the sandra bezic part and that there were "too many cooks in the kitchen" sort of thing, but in the sense that everyone who needs to be working with her is working with her.

There was nothing said about her mom. But yeah, I mean, this is nothing we didn't already know. There's a big team at TCC, lots of people involved.

I listened to that episode and I don't re call them mentioning her mom or implying anything about her mom.

For purposes of estimating Evgenia's GPF chances, what GP Helsinki results would be most beneficial?

Alina will win 1000% tomorrow and she‘ll also get a second GP gold. She‘s the only skater who is pretty much confirmed for the final.

It would probably be best if Kaori doesn‘t win silver for Evgenia but honestly, I don‘t want to think like that because as much as I love Zhenya, my heart broke for Kaori today and I want her to do well. If she is out however... well, one contender less for GPF. But I don‘t want this to happen, Kaori doesn‘t deserve bad luck like this, she was so good at SA. :sad21: I know this is Zhenya‘s fanfest but I can‘t wish Kaori to do badly, no matter how much I want Zhenya in the final.

Third place isn‘t too important, I guess? Doesn‘t seem like anybody else is a contender for GPF.

Zhenya's mother does not usually get involved, she has said in thousands of interviews, she doesn't even go to live competitions and only watches her daughter's performance once, without repeating, because she gets very nervous and doesn't want to disturb her.

It is the beginning of the season, there is still time to make all the necessary adjustments both in the choreo as the layout of jumps and their combinations. I'm satisfied with the result, if I'm honest I expected worse things, because the girl was literally 4 months without jumping, she started her training and rehearsing programs very recently, it's really a miracle that she has recovered all her jumps and even she's making new combinations like 2A-3Lo. The scores can progress, since she has managed to be on the podium even with a lot of discount on her protocol and with a very strict tech panel.
The SP doesn't convince me yet, I think a good wardrobe and makeup can help her get into that flirtatious character. I would like to see more speed in the stsq.about the levels missing, I am sure that this month is more than enough for her to bring them back.
To me, Bezic's refinements in the FS worked very well, each time it looks more like a tango; its handling of the arms and upper body have improved and are better mixed with the music. Zhenya is used to working as a team, I see no problem in receiving extra advice .

I want her to do well. Actually I want everyone to do well. But obviously, as Evgenia's fan, I want what is best for Evgenia. As unpredictable as the sport is, I wanted to have an inkling about what scenario would help Evgenia the most.

I understand that. I‘m pretty conflicted. Of course I want Zhenya to go to the final and a scenario that could help her would normally be everything I support. But if it takes a skater like Kaori who is just a wonderful young girl struggling so much and crying... I don‘t know, I really don’t want that. Why can‘t there be more skaters at the final?? :(

Hmmm...you know, I am thinking Zhenya is going to win gold in the final. This season for her is like a path going upward. She faced a big challenge in skate Canada and I think it made her stronger physically and mentally for the road ahead. Everything with her training and progress is building her, growing her, maturing her. Skate Canada also bonded her more with her new team. I am not going to comment on other skaters since this is zhenya’s fest, but I think highly of both of those mentioned in a post above mine. I just think this season is “zhenya’s story” for some reason. Hers and one other “new” senior skater. ;)

Oh my wish is for us to look back at this post after this season and say, wow, lastremnant predicted it!

I hope your prediction turns out to be true, of course but at the moment Zhenya‘s focus is on reworking her technique and being consistent with it again. She can totally medal at the GPF if she is clean but I really don‘t know whether gold is even up to debate... first she has to reach the final, then we‘ll think about everything else. Step after step. I agree that this new training process and even competitions that don’t go well are helping her mature and grow even stronger. I would be so happy if this season was “Zhenya‘s story“ indeed and even if it doesn‘t end up in a pile of gold medals it will actually still be her story, always! It will be the season she made the biggest move in her life, the season where she changed everything. I am excited to see it but I‘m personally trying to keep my expectations low so that Zhenya can only surprise me!

I think the LP is still coreographed by David, as TSL said that Sandra Bezic hadn't seen Zhenya since ACI, and this is not just rumours but what Sandra told them. I know some people said that Sandra was listed together with David as a coreographer for the LP (don't know where, but someone even mentioned it in the comment section of TSL's video), but given the information that we have maybe that was a mistake. We now need to do more research!

About the mother issue, well I don't see anything bad if the mother is involved somehow in the process. I mean it's her daughter!
