In one of his interviews, I think Brian mentioned that she was working on her spins last week. Maybe the team felt that it was a better use of her time.

I think her family understands that being able to qualify to GPF is Zhenya's priority and they don't want her to be distracted in anyway.

I don’t know if there’ll be an official stream (doubt it, as the prior events haven’t had one), but there’ll definitely be Med-focused fan streams. Probably multiple. I’d check Twitter with the GP hashtag or a search of her name and look for the latest (not most relevant or popular) Tweets. Though any fan stream will almost certainly be linked here as soon as it starts.

Thanks for tracking this down.
First of all, the Canadian crowd adopted her during that performance. Very sweet.

Also, listening to Tracey explaining why Evgenia came to Canada to train, I am even more impressed with her. I think Zhenya made the smartest move possible for her career and overall health.

Where she will train? and with who? - she mention she don't have ice ring for training in Moscow before
and she needed to focus on Idf not see her grandma- her grandmother could fly to France too
and if she fly to Russia she needs to pay her ticket - but fly to France cover by isu

if you ask me that's why she didn't do it... but who knows :think:

Hey guys!
I know that for most of us this weekend will be really exciting because we get to finally see Zhenya again, but also stressful especially if you're watching live.
I am finally done with exams and I think I'll be watching most events live, and of course the ladies.
So, to help you calm down I am posting this throwback of Zhenya at the TAT anniversary, doing Meditation by Thais. It's a really beautiful and calming piece.

I'm not sure where she'll train, or if she'll only have the practices on the IdF rink, but Tracy is with her, so she has a solid coach for the competition. Also, some of her fans pitched in shortly after she moved to Canada and bought her an airline voucher, enough for a couple of round trips between Toronto and Moscow, so she could make the flight from France if that's her plan, but I agree that she probably won't; she'll likely be focused on the competition instead.

That's probably enough to win if she skates clean, or at least get silver and make the GPF if Rika takes gold. As long as Zhenya's clean, she's probably in. She got 197 after tanking the SP. There were a good 12 points left on the ice from that program, and she can clean up some of the little things in the FS, too. She has room to win. :agree:
