I dont think that now is the time for changing the SP. She has way too much stuff on her head. Also, bringing her Olympics SP back wouldnt be that wise from a psychological point of view because I think it will always remind her about not achieving her goal. She got third today not because of the choreo but due to the lack of a 3-3 and downgraded Spin.

As always I loved to see Zhenya perform, although it was a shame her nerves seemed to impact the muscial interpretation today.
But the 2A was as soft and effortless as I've seen from her - it was a real highlight to me and makes me more excited to see the 2A3Lo combo tomorrow in the free!

I thought the shorter skirt on the dress looked gorgeous too, it suits the playfulness of the program more than it did before imo.

onwards to the free skate! the points are so close it's anyone's game, and we know Zhenya will come out to fight.

I know this will never happen because it would probably hurt her to much, but if she brought back Anna Karenina I would die. But the tango is okay, I just am not convinced of the short anymore. It’s gotten worse and worse since Russian test skates

She’s been working with Paige, the TCC spin coach, pretty intensively since she got there. I suspect whatever is going on with her spins is a personal issue that can’t be easily fixed right now

I dunno if calm and supportive is the type of coaching Med needs. Orser mentioned that his coaching style was too "light-hearted" for Med after SC.

I actually like Zhenya's SP (much more than her LP). It's something new for her and is a way to explore different genres of music and style of skating. I remember Davild Wilson at an interview about Yuna saying Die Fledermaus paved the way for Danse Macabre. I think Orange Colored Sky is a stepping stone to Zhenya's "Danse Macabre". We just have to wait and see. This is a transition stage.

The thing I'm most sad about was not the missed combo but Zhenya's smile being gone the whole program because she's too nervous. I missed the flirty subtle smiles she does in this program. Sadly, we didn't get to see them. Goodluck on the free skate!

She needs 131 to beat Samodurova and 146 to beat Kaori. I really hope she can get silver. She could have gotten a huge advantage after all the others messed up. Tomorrow will be stressfull

Maybe a 3F3T - 3Lz -2A* would be achievable. If she fails the combo, she could still try to safe it with the lutz. And he axel is gorgeous, getting the bonus would be nice.

Orser is calm, but has a proven track record, many of skater won gold medals, raf and med would of been a good team too, could speak in russian, and he a pretty cold as ice coach.

The music requires personality, but Zhenya is so focused on the jumps it's hard to do the music justice. It's not her fault, there's a lot of pressure on her, but it would be much easier if she didn't have such demanding music.

I agree. The advantage of Zhenya's "serious" programs were that if she was nervous, it didn't affect presentation negatively. This program requires flirting, casting looks at th judges, interaction with public... All this is hard when you are too nervous. Something serious is better when you need to be "in your bubble", as she said several times about herself. But it is probably unrealistic to change it now, so Zhenya has to fight with it.

.09 or something is not a big difference to get the silver that she need as long as she did good tomorrow. I remember Yuzu got in much bad position before but he still manage to win and qualify for GPF.

Anyway, she look so intense, so serious. It's not the zhenya I am used to see and given her music I am expecting to see more of her fun side.
