Evgenia Medvedeva

i hope she doesn't let this get to her. i hope she understands that this is just part of the process and there will be many more downs in the journey for a while rather than ups. once she gets her new muscle memory she's going to be spectacular.

also this short program fits her like a glove!! i hope she keeps it next year too. it's a safe but strong choice while she goes through the adjustment period.

hoping she comes back strong in the free no matter what happens

What happened with Jenya?? Psychological problems in compete's stress? In practice she really perfect!:hslap:

She didn't sleep. Multiple camera shots where she yawns (3+ I saw) in the waiting hall. Her presentation is still there - the best of all time, she just needs to come back mentally.

Russians still love her, that makes me feel comfort[emoji17][emoji17][emoji17]
He4 fans will always love her. But yes we new that it was risky to do a new programm as soon as the rumors surfaced. She had 4 weeks for a new choreo, new music, on top of everything else. It was a win or loose situation with both her old and new programm. And all those changes. She isn't used to changing her programm, layout every damm competition. That is in my eyes the fault of her team at the moment. They change too much too fast . Stick with one layout or 2 but not change it constantly. How can she get the feel for a programm if she has to adjust to changes every competition?

For a first post, I'll tell you this (as a reminder):

Forget about a 100-metre sprint,
forget about a mile long dash.

THIS IS A 4-YEAR MARATHON.

Each victory from now on, how small it could be, must be savored at it's fullest. Each result, even how bad it is, must be dissected in order to find a gem inside.

For the rest, in calm or rough seas ahead, the main word must be: STAY UNITED!

On a personal note: I have a plan. For us, mainly for Canadians and American supporters, but everyone is welcome. I'll keep you posted shortly...

I hope the support she received today helps her. Those cheers were really something she should hang on to.

Tonight is going to be a loong night for her. I just hope she somehow would be able to let go...And to skate just for herself. But...

She fears to lose you can see in it her eyes
She was always fearless before, so sure of herself
Someone who hasn't been beaten in more than 2 years isn't used to loosing. Yes she had haters even than but she was winning so she wasn't questioning herself if she is good enough of not. But when you begin to loose after such a long time of only winning, than you automatically start to question yourself, , than take the hate, she gets to that and you start to question yourself even more, of you are really good enough, or not, if it is your fault or not. Add to that her foot and back injury plus all the other changes and you have what we see at this moment. Any normal person would crack under such pressure. It is normal cause it is a human thing.

I hope she can do what Mao Asada and Nathan Chen did from comparable SP positions and end things on a better note. There can be a certain freedom in skating in such a position, as Nathan acknowledged.

But it’s not surprising, sadly, that somebody who knew nothing but success for so long is struggling so much now. Invinciblility is self-reinforcing, mentally, but when that’s ruptured the results are often not pretty. That’s something I’m sure she can adapt to — there’s no special trick to it beyond time.

Totally agree with everything you posted.

I read what happened before I watched the program and I skipped through the mistakes because it would've been too sad. The program is really, really lovely and it's unfortunate it didn't work out.

Of course I'm upset, but I was ready to accept whatever happened, and I knew it was equally likely for her to do either really well or not well at all. Both Brian and Zhenya seemed to accept the results as well. On one hand it's strange because obviously they've been training for her to go clean but on the other hand I think it's good that they weren't hysterical over it.

I think there's still a very small chance she'd get sent to Euros if she can do well tomorrow, but certainly not Worlds. I'm sad and not ready for her season to end so early but she needs more time to embrace all of the changes so maybe it will be a blessing in disguise.

The support from the crowd was really amazing. Both Brian and Zhenya seemed to be amazed by it. It was very touching and I hope she knows that so many of us are rooting for her, understanding her, and just patiently waiting for her.

Some on Twitter said they heard Brian say "Oh god. Your mother is going to freak out. What are we going to do?” in the K&C. Wow does Zhenya"s mom have that much of an influence. Will she tell Zhenya to quit her coaching situation?

Yes, I hope so too, but I'm afraid that she will repeat Konstantinova's performance from Worlds. Of course, I won't stop loving her and won't ever lose my.faith in her, but it would be really detrimental for her mental state. I'm just waiting for a new season to start.
