Could not have said it better. She could have withdrawn from RusNats but she didn't she came here knowing she had almost no chance of winning. The knowledge that every one would look at her too. That eteri and her old team would be there. And still she came out here. Still in my opinion a gap year may have been the better decision from the beginning. She would have had time to settle to breathe and to adjust , without that much pressure. They should have gotten her into a few b comps to get her ready again and next season let her have her come back.Still, she is so fearless. I mean, she knew already in May how much criticism she would face, how harsh it would be. She knew how tough this season would be with all the competition in Russia and with all of her changes and injuries. I don't think Federation would deny her a gap season, considering her status and popularity. And yet she goes and faces every challenge...
Oh dang, I can't watch the performance yet but I saw a few bits and the score of course and my heart hurts. :sad21:
At this point I think it would be better for her not to be sent to Euros and especially Worlds but I feel like she needs competitions to manifest the new techniques. Are there any smaller ones she could participate in?
Just stop pushing down the pressure on her... I know there are so many peopler want to see her performance in Euros and Worlds, including me, I used to plan to go to Japan on March in next year to see Zhenya in Worlds, next season maybe...![]()

Most of it she pays herself from the money made by sponsoring and her winnings before.and I don't think the sponsor would jump away from her so quicklyWhat concerns me the most isn‘t her not going to Euros/Worlds. It‘s her ending up not in top 6 and not getting any funding next year....
One question... do you guys think it would be good for Zhenya to be sent to Euros or Worlds? In a mental state like this? She isn‘t ready mentally, whatever happened to her confidence won‘t change so fast. Better let her go to Universiade or another minor B competition and give her the chance to get some competition experience that isn‘t as big as Euros or Worlds....

Damm , another reason why I think that it would have been better to take this season off. I would guess that without having the competitions her injuries would heal faster and better. From what we found out her back injury was or is quite serious. So her basically aggravatingScreen grabs show that Evgenia was wearing pain relief patches on her mid-upper back today
