I know that fighter-Zhenya can come back in the free, even if it's "just" to a personal victory. A SB free skate might not get her on the team, but it would be a confidence booster, and she needs that right now. And the competition's not over yet, she can still prove herself tomorrow :) (where I will be so scared when I watch live)

Honestly, I will support Zhenya in anything she does because I am her fan, but I am kind of scared right now. Not because of her, but... Brian was so confused when he saw that 62 = 14th. I don't think he realizes how deep the field is, and it hurts me to see Zhenya going out there looking so nervous/panicked/scared.

I only hope that Zhenya can end her competition happy tomorrow. I hope that she comes out as a fighter, with the same will and determination that took her to her successes throughout life, not just skating. I hope she comes out wanting to slay, because I know she has all the goods to do so if she believes in herself. I wish I could tell her how much I, and all of her fans, believe in her :laugh:

I think this competition will make Brian truly realize the competition she is up against. The team made some mistakes this season, but going forward they will be on the same page. And i am looking forward to see Zhenya skate tomorrow. :)

I do not think Medvedeva should go to Euros or Worlds, even if she manages to pull off a good LP. Missing out the rest of the season would be a blessing in disguise. Right now, she needs to just get away from the hoopla and take the necessary time to rebuild. Trying to bang out short-term results while going through such a tumultuous reconstruction is just going to worsen the psychological roller coaster and hit her reputation and confidence.

TSL had it correct that she should've skipped Nationals.

What Med's going through right now builds character and makes her a more well-rounded person and skater. In the long run, it is absolutely the right choice, but she needs to take the time and space to go through the reworking process in private.
 
Ok, who thinks there might be a chance that the gold dress will appear tomorrow?

I’ve never skated so I guess it’s hard for me to understand the mental aspects of it - but she is so good in practice and just completely falls apart in competition it’s hard to wrap my head around. There really should be no reason to be nervous tomorrow - at this point, as TSL articulated, the world/euro team is out of reach. All she can do is her best.

In acupuncture the needles are not necessarily placed where your pain exactly is. So they may be placed on the upper back to influence the rest of her spine. That's my guess. Usually upper back issues are mainly muscular and the neck and lower back are the discs that get compressed.
