I don't understand a lot of Russian, but in the gala video she says something like "Hi to everyone, Happy New Year and thank you for your support".

What a pity she didn't get the Universiade spot, on the other hand I hope this gives her time to heal her back properly. I'd also like her to keep both programs so we can hopefully see them in full glory next season. ^_^
 
I agree with you about this. He definitely was talking about losing Gogolev - of course that's painful for him. I never doubted that Brian is absolutely committed to Evgenia. Even Tracy has said a couple of times that Brian is with her for the long haul.

Did you see the way he looked at Evgenia when she was standing up thanking the crowd in the K&C? Pride, happiness and love.

On a different note, I am so happy that Evgenia reconnected with her friends from her old training camp. I absolutely think the thought that she lost that friendship with them because of her move made her feel isolated emotionally, and affected her training. Let's be real, what teenager wouldn't be affected? Add to that the intense media /social media attention. I think now that they have reconnected, that baggage is gone. I think with a clear head and renewed confidence, she is ready to go back to training. That's so exciting!!!

He usually trains around 7 athletes, some of which he has the main coach (Yuzu, Janny, Jun, Gogolev, who am I missing?) and others in which is the secondary coach (Gabby, Jason). At the JGPF Stephen Gogolev showed up with Lee Barkell as his primary coach. This was rumored by TSL beforehand who said that some parents were unhappy with how much time Brian was spending with Evgenia.

In his interview Brian explained the situation– Evgenia was struggling with parts of training. When he would tell her to skate by herself for 30 minutes, she would ask “what am I supposed to do?” Part of TCC is learning independence as a part of building confidence and she was used to being told all the time what to do (so like micromanaged). So yes, Brian had to spend more time than he anticipated with Evgenia. He said “I had to take some hits but that’s okay” aka being fired by Stephen’s parents.

Brian has trained Stephen since he was 7, so basically half of Stephen’s life. There has always been pressure on him to produce a Canadian champion (sorry Nam), and Stephen was supposed to be that. So his JGPF victory must have been very bittersweet for Brian. I mean Stephen’s still at TCC and it’s a collaborative environment but it sucks.

Sorry for this dramatic long comment but I teared up at this story. No one is perfect but he is fiercely devoted to Evgenia’s skating and well being, and that’s all we can ask for

The Evgenia and Alina pictures are sooo heart warming, I’m sure that did good to both of them too. I hope this puts a rest to any lingering thoughts that they dislike each other and fans of both can be respectful too. Here’s to them continue having a healthy rivalry on ice and giving us amazing moments!

Notice the word "dresses"??? I think he is going to be her new go to choreographer and mentor. She needed someone to help with dresses! Also it was either him or Jason she spoke to the night before the free skate.

Very happy to see the children happy and sharing kindly without intrigues of malicious adults!:luv17::clap:


Zhenya's smile is priceless, for her her country is very important, and now she returns to Canada with a heart full of love. All those beautiful stuffed animals and roses, what emotion.


I don't worry much about assignments. I am happy for everything that Zhenya has accomplished in these few months. New technical elements: 3S-3Lo, 2A-3lo, improvements in SS, improvement in the takeoff of her jumps. She has a lot of time to practice and stabilize her new combos, which will be of great advantage for the construction of a strong layout the next season.
I only hope to see Zhenya at least in some competition B, will the rounds of the Russian Cup continue, can Zhenya enter any?


* I hope that the Tosca program is maintained for the next season, it is a beauty.

I wonder why Zhenya was secretive about who she spoke to after her SP?

I tend to think it was Javi because Zhenya said he helped her decide to change coaches and move to Canada.
 
So I don't think there are any other competitions for this season? Unless Stainislava withdraws from Universidade right?
