You know what's interesting about this photo? Med is the only person who knows exactly how Alina is feeling, and can empathize with her because Med has been the same exact situation of being the older, champion and quickly being overtaken by your younger training mate.
Whatever their individual relationships with Eteri is, hopefully these two can reflect fondly and appreciate what they've accomplished, especially at the Olympics.

While I’d like to see her perform her new SP again, this extra time without competitions could be a blessing for Zhenya.
That back injury still seems to be an issue. It’s better if she spends this extra time rehabbing the back, working on her physical condition and cautiously training with the new jumping technique.

I dont think Javi has time, he's busy with his ice shows. The most free is Jason. Misha is at Japan Nationals but still has time

All these girls never fail to amaze me. They are so respectful, polite and many other things... Neither Evgenia nor Alina has never sad anything bad about the other. The same goes to the Evgenia/Yulia situation. How highlt she spoke about Evgenia while commentating last season. It was obvious how much she wanted her to win OG (do not get me wrong, she spoke highly about Alina too). All of them are extraordinary.
"Yesterday" would have been Friday, since the interview about the FS was done Saturday. The ladies SP ended around 4:30 p.m. Moscow Time Friday. Keep in mind Japan is 5 hours ahead of Russian time, so it would have already 9:30 p.m. in Japan. Since Misha had to be up early to coach Kazuki and be at men's warm up the next day, if it's Misha then the conversation had to have happen pretty much right at that time and I find it hard to believe it would have happened then given all the interviews and stuff Zhenya would have had at that time.
And yes Javi would have been busy with his ice show.
So I'm going to guess Jason too because the SP would have ended at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time and basically would have been awake for a phone call.
Well whoever it is, that is wonderful to hear that person was there for her!
Well said. When you think about it, other elite athletes are the only people who can REALLY appreciate the jiourmey and the victory because they’ve been on that road too.

Don't forget about the possibility that it could very well be someone we don't even know. She has her private life and it could be a talk with someone not related to professional sport, whom she does not want to bring into the public for obvious reasons.

Ahhh... It may. Many skaters, or even teams, had some programs returned the following year. So if Saransk was the only time this season this short program was performed, it can be reworked and re-practiced easily for the next season. So many others can see it. At places closer to ours!

That's absolutely true! It's kind of fun to guess though. I'm just glad she has support regardless of who gives it.
I hope she keeps the Tosca program for another season!

She truely is, from the outside and inside.. <3 It is such a delight to see her express her personality so much, for an instance her gesture of donating the stuffed toys to the orphanage.
And as much as I dislike constantly commenting on ones appearance, I just cannot stop doing it in Zhenya's case - she looks SO STUNNING! Literally everytime I see a picture or a recording. She's beautiful during the competitions (her new looks for both programmes are so amazing) and outside of competitions as well. She really has it all; looks, personality, wisdom,... the list goes on.

I hope she keeps it until next season. She has performed it only once and not even close to its full potential. Possibly keep the FS too and polish it but that‘s not as important. And to have a program she is comfortable with, especially the SP she has been having trouble with, can help her focus more on other changes she makes on the technical side without being too nervous.

I have to agree. Familarity might be an advantage for her next season; at least for her SP. I, for one, am completely in love with her Tosca programme and would love to see it performed many more times - and clean once she's comfortable with her environment! And her dresses are stunning, I would be so sad to not see them on her again.
But then again, maybe Evgenia will want a completely new SP and FP in order to fully get closure with this season and to start fresh once again; including her experiences from the season, though.

The only dress I’ve liked this season was the ACI FS dress. It wasn’t the most tango looking dress but it fit her program tbh. I’m hoping that next season we will see better dresses once she is more settled into her next programs.

Don‘t you like her new dresses? I think they‘re her best this season. I think both designs fit the programs well. But that‘s probably personal taste and a more subjective matter.
