Evgenia Medvedeva

Let's focus on Evgenia in her own fanfest. :)

It is cruel of you to speculate like this on the health of other skaters. You do not know what they are going through and yet you feel like you can predict that they will be broken.
Again with the assuming like in the other thread [emoji2356]i didnt say they are broken and i dont want that for anyone of them to become true. But please look at the foto above from alina and tell me that looks anywhere near ok? And again I said if it happens not when but if, it doesn't have to happen and I don't wish for it to happen .

I love how active this thread has been. For me, this fanfest is the only place without much toxicity in the online skating community. I hope during the looong off season we will somehow manage to stay active.

I feel the same way. This is such a peaceful and active place where people can discuss and I love it.

funny, someone share a pic of her ankles, but that's completely normal and not a sign that someone's body is reaching their limit, but oh well:confused2:

why it quote?

Cruel is too strong a word....To be fair, he was not speculating about the health of other skaters. He was speculating about what people would say if they saw hypothetically ("if") those other skaters' health fails.

Maybe if we run out of things in the long off season we can spend some time to indulge in all of our old favourite programs, dresses, memes and all that fun stuff!
I love this fan fest!

I’m not sure this person had any bad intentions. If you look at the link I have added the evidence is there. She is injured. Also Alina was merely mentioned in relation to the need for skaters to do what is best for their health and longevity.

I think we can use Zhenya as an example if Alina shouldn‘t be mentioned. Even though I don‘t understand why. There was nothing but genuine concern in fabienne‘s post. :scratch2:

But let‘s look at Zhenya. As the years went by she managed to keep her consistency more or less until last year when things slowly started to fall apart. But you could see in footwork that it was much more difficult for her to do the many moves without twisting her upper body to generate the force needed to complete them. Her jumps, of course, also looked more muslced. She wasn‘t done just like Alina won‘t be done now that she‘s maturing but the changes were there just like they are with Alina now and their body suddenly started to become more prone to injuries. I really, really like Alina and care about her that‘s why I hope she won‘t end up with a broken body.

But the signs are there at least that some things are becoming more difficult for her. She is doing everything she can do but maybe it would be better for her to tone it down a bit with the training and give her body the time it needs to adapt. But what do I know. I don’t want to make any assumptions; I just have eyes and I worry. But I really, really hope she rests well before Europeans, has some time with her family and heals that chemical burn as well as the ankle injury she got before the GPF.

And he or she as well as I did not say that alina reached her limits just that no such a swollen ankle is and should not be considered as normal but seen as swollen and possible injured. She also looked to be in pain from what I could see last week. Add to that informations from persons who where there live and saw some of her trainings session which apparently weren't clean either and that she was apparently seen holding one of her legs looking as if she was in pain more than once( if I remember correctly, but I could also be wrong)

To bring some positivity and cuteness, the Super Juniors had an appearance on Russian TV, first on the news and then on a talk show, and name dropped Zhenya twice  Sasha mentioned how Zhenya was the one who gifted her her tissue-box and then on the talk show, when the host asked if the audience throws some food on the ice as well, the girls said that some fan threw a pack of pelmeni after Zhenya's performance

I think to shut this down before it gets out of hand we should just note that everybody in this fanfest, including myself, wishes the best for Alina and would like to see her have a long and successful career. Quite frankly I want her to get a world placement this season because I know it’s something she wants and missed out on last season. We don’t wish bad on any of the Eteri girls at all. But when skaters are showing signs of injury it is reasonable to be concerned and I would expect the same from Alina fans in relation to Evgenia. Just because one of the two is your favourite it doesn’t mean you dislike the other.

What do you think about Marina Zueva working Evgenia. She is sort of retired I guess but lives in Florida. I really want her to work with Misha again. Pretty sure they well. I mean they barely worked two weeks together on that other program so it would seem a waste not to continue working with him. My gut is feeling that she should use someone from Russia or near Russia as her choreographer. Please no David Wilson.

Some positivity. Maxim Trankov said very nice words about Zhenya when he was commentating ladies' FP. Basically, what we are saying here. That she is wonderful, but what she is going through right now is very understandable. She can't be this tiny bear, smiling little girl forever. She is growing and turning into amazing an young woman. She can 'own' audience like no one else. He really hopes she will prevail, because he badly wants to see her skate and have a long carrier. Now, if only some officials from RusFed could hear that.

If anybody finds a link to that with English subtitles please post it! I love Alena and always find interviews with the Eteri girls so interesting, such strong minded young ladies!

It feels so mean to say but I agree no more David Wilson. It just isn’t her style.

Agreed completely. Many of the Eteri girls are among my favourites and I would never want them to be injured! I just worry! And I wish them all the best and I too wish for Alina to medal at Worlds this year as she missed out on that last season.

I love this fan fest!

This is a great idea and definitely something we should do. The off-season will be reaaally long for us Zhenya fans this year so we should find a way to keep ourselves busy!
