I was rewatching her FS from Ondrej Nepela from last year, and it still baffles me how many people were saying that she couldn't handle it technically and that putting 6 jumps in the second half was never successful even though she only had 1 stepout on the lutz and performed all jumps except for one 3T with a tano or a rippon. I mean, that was the first competition of the season, and people were quite critical (this was towards the end of the season actually and I remember that people were saying this to defend Eteri while arguing about whether Zhenya wanted a higher tech program and Eteri didn't give it to her). I didn't like that program at all, but they changed it because she wasn't feeling it, not because she couldn't do the jumps. I'm sure that if for example they made Anna Karenina her competitive program from the beginning with the same jump layout as Nepela, she could've handled it. That dress though! Still sad it wasn't used more.
 
Good to have it officially! I'm happy we'll get to see her compete at least one more time this season. Go out and do your best, Zhenya! The rest is up to the fed and the circumstances.

I agree :)

I choose to have an entirely optimistic view. I’m mostly just glad to see her again this season. There are two possibilities, actually three but one of them is not in Zhenya‘s hands:

1. she‘ll perform the best she‘s had this entire season long and gets sent to Worlds
2. She doesn‘t perform well and doesn‘t go to Worlds which would be sad but she‘d have more time to improve and enter some small competitions as preparation for next year.
3. She performs reasonably well but the fed still decides not to send her. Maybe that would result n her going to other competitions such as Universiade.

What‘s there to lose, Zhenya? Just be free and skate for yourself. We‘ll certainly cheer you on! :hap10:

The competitor that Evgenia is, I am sure she is happy that she has this chance. So many of us are cheering for you, Evgenia!!!

Now, wouldn't it be lovely if Tracy made her Russian debut at RCF? But I think considering that many TCC skaters are preparing for Worlds, that probably would not happen, right?

Hard to say, but isn’t Brian her head coach? So unless he’s not available, I’m I guessing he will be the one to go with her. If both Brian and Tracy go it will probably be more expensive as I think she would have to cover more costs. Just my guess, though.

I think RusFed actually pays for competition-related travel costs, which I assume includes also those of her coaches (like for everyone).

Brian is listed first in Evgenia's ISU profile as her coach, then Tracy. I think that means that he is her head coach (Tracy is listed first for Jason, for example, which corresponds to the actual situation).

I think Tracy brought such great energy in US Nats and it would be great to have her in RCF, too. But I agree, the probability of that happening is quite low.
 
I'd love for Tracy to have her Russiann debut as well, but we'll see. And I'm wondering who else is going to be there. Gorshkov didn't say anything about Liza and she's going to another competition the week before. Who else is going?

I have not heard re Liza, but read that Stanislava is participating...
 
No announcement re Liza from her team or RusFed re RCF. Whether or not she will be there - I think highly likely.

I think the announcement hasn't been made. She has to do Russian Cup Final because it is one of the qualifiers. She hasn't done Nationals or Europeans.
