It's good to see that she's learning to not let the mistakes upset her too much and that she's gaining her confidence back. One of the things I noticed during the FS was that she was laughing/smiling, when she got up from the fall. That's when I know it was going to go well, no matter what, and for once this season it wasn't nerve-racking to watch her.
She really should be proud of herself and of the way she overcame all this season's challenges.

The Worlds is in Japan. So she has to go.

Then please tell me which jumps you thought were UR and not called. Her 3Lo in the combo was actually downgraded. I don‘t know where all this overscored nonsense is coming from. This is a national competition, of course there will be inflation. But other than that, it was a reasonable score. As for Liza and Zhenya, it could have gone either way. Had Liza just landed a clean 2A in the SP, she probably would have won. It‘s very close. Rusfed will decide but I‘m glad that Zhenya‘s happy and has had such a good competition. And I think everyone in her fanfest should, too. ;)

Hmmm, Exhibit A - Russian Ladies Thread. If tomorrow, Evgenia discovers the cure for cancer, someone there will say something vicious - I get what you are saying, but vicious attacks would not be anything new.

I think there are 2 options:
- She goes to Worlds
- She doesn't go to Worlds and has already ended her season.
WTT is between her shows in Japan and Canada. So I don't know how she could prepare well for all of that.
 
I just hope Zhenya reads nothing about her on the internet and just thinks of the support she got at BOTH Rusnats and here and realises how much Russia still loves her. I, too, am very concerned about all the hate because it has influenced her before but I hope this time it will be different because she knows it‘s just a few, vicious, hateful and loud people that have nothing to do in their life but bash skaters that try their best to win medals for their country. I would be happiest if she got to go to Universiade + WTT as a fun competition and a way to earn a high season‘s best. But I‘d also like to see her at Worlds with all her other TCC teammates... I just hope she goes back to TCC now with her flower crown and a gold medal and prepares calmly for whatever competition she will get.

But why would she even bother to show up here if she‘d already ended her season anyway? I thought she‘d either go to Universiade or Worlds. But now we have Liza not at Universiade which means that she‘s likely to go to Worlds. (She said if she got the spot, she‘d withdraw) And it‘s Sotskova replacing her, not Zhenya. I don‘t think her season has ended yet. That would make no sense. But I also have no other explanation on what this could mean...

To fight for a world spot.

IDK about WTT. The best thing she could do if she doesn't get to worlds is start preparing for the new season with new program(s)

Yes, I know she was fighting for the World spot. And she won here. So, it‘s clear she has to get another competition, if the fed goes by their own rules. Do you think she wants only Worlds and nothing else? I don‘t think so...
 
Just re-watched her program. Something I noticed: After she finished, all the little girls who collect the toys afterwards were cheering and screaming and applauding. That was so nice to see, they were so enthusiastic. Zhenya really is beloved. All those kids look up to her.

I wouldn't read so much into it. If Zhenya went to Universidade, she would have to stay in Russia alone until the event. It wouldn't make sense to go home to only need to come back early March. I think the ladies skating started at or around March 6.

WTT makes more sense - if she doesn't go to Worlds. She will need to rearrange the show schedule though.
 
Hello dear Evgenia's loyal fans!
Today after her performance I came across some very unpleasant commentaries (not in this thread, of course), specially about Zhenya's instability.
So, I made a linear regression for her SP and FS scores since the Challenger series in Canada. Both the regressions plotted a crescent line, but the FS progress is evident and leaves no doubt of her improvement (I know her last two competitions were domestic btw ).
I hope this makes a valid argument!
