Evgenia Medvedeva

I see, that makes it very bad for both of them... I hope it won’t affect any of them. I can’t imagine how Zhenya must feel reading things like that [emoji26]
I know [emoji24] Zhenya will always be one of my favourite skaters and she is such an extraordinary person
Neither of them deserved any of this [emoji17]

I know right? I just hope is not awkward between them at Nationals. I doubt it would be as they both seem pretty mature when it comes to dealing with this kind of thing.
Nevertheless, shame on those who try to create drama to hurts others.
I get upset because I feel like others talking disrespectfully about Zhenya is so common now. Like why can they just let Zhenya focus on her training?

I don't know Russian either. I read it was a voice off that talked about Liza and 4A as superheroes and mentioned Zhenya as the villain of the story. Saying that nothing good could be taken out of the rubbish or lies while the video showed Zhenya.

This video was uploaded to Liza's YT channel. What is said is that after the controversy the video wasn't deleted but only edited taking out the comments made of Zhenya. That is why some people find it strange and have doubts about the truthfulness of Liza's apologies.

Of course, Zhenya has demonstrated once again how a good person and team mate she is.

It definitely looks like they've already spoken to each other privately, so I think it'll be fine. The situation is unnecessary and especially upsetting a week before nationals, but I'm happy to see the two of them resolved it quickly and maturely. Love Zhenya's class!

And damn, in light of other news from today, I'm so thankful that Zhenya keeps on fighting and skating for us, already 5 senior seasons in a row. It's insane. No words how much I appreciate her for devoting herself so completely to the sport! And Brian and Tracy for creating a supportive environment for her to be able to do so.

I really want FS to get back to being the sport in which everyone enjoys the beauty, in which there's no place for anger or harassment. Let's love it together!"

 If only everyone could be as classy as Zhenya, the world would be a better place

This is a random question, but, if Zhenya doesn't make Euros or Worlds, where could she compete after nationals? Would it just be domestic competitions or are there any other international competitions? Or would her season just end there?

This world needs more Zhenyas

She could go to B-Comps. However they don't count towards season's best, they count only towards World standing.

Sort of depends on how many shows she can book to skate in, since they are told to pay really well? After New Year and Orthodox Christmas, holidays in Russia are over. No more domestic shows I suppose. Perhaps in Japan? Or in spring break, depending how on Russia will do in the World Championships with all the uncertainty over the still pending CAS decision?

Does Yevgeniya feel a real need to resume full time training in TCC, learn new elements with full conviction and dedication right after finishing the show? Or will she lightly train in Moscow and elsewhere on the shows and tours to stay in shape? And re-commence at TCC May, June, once she has made her mind up, knows her position regarding the top team, i.e. her financial allowance etc.?

With Zagitova resting for the rest of the season, with an uncertain return to the international ice, Medvyedeva now has only Tuktamysheva in her age group and skating level, so this makes her chances different again.

Evgenia has a show in February (Alina is also there) and her own Sailor Moon Show in June in Japan. Then she has the Summer Olympics 2020 in July, if she still goes there.

I think there's enough commotion involving other skaters that Zhenya should be left in peace while she trains. I don't know what you re trying to imply honestly but the energy is best directed elsewhere.

I am considering this from the practical point of view. I.e. travelling, showing, training, resting, living in Canada isn't cheap, hopping around the globe. When Medvyedeva is declared a reserve or is even on a team for Euro's or Worlds, there rises a whole new situation. Zagitova is out, so that's one less 'competitor' to worry over.

The all important National Championships start in 10 days and the dynamics for 'second flight' have changed considerably.

sorry Zhenya was put through this nonsense. ridiculous.

I don't get it why it's always Zhenya who is getting all the hatred. This is so unfair!
If Zagitiva is out if the Nationals does it mean she will be automatically nominated for the Euros and Worlds like Zhenya in 2018?

what? No, I think Alina specified in her interview that she wants a break and wouldn't pursue any nomination to Euros or World Team 2020.
If Zhenya does well at Nationals, she might have a chance to make these teams like any other skater competing at nationals.
I don't mind if she doesn't make either team, we all know that spots are limited and the youngsters are dominating RN. All I wish is for Zhenya is to have 2 clean skates that she feels proud of.

Why that fired manager was even targeting Medvyedeva, using other Sambo-70 skaters to mock her??

With Kostornaya, Shcherbakova and Trusova the highest scoring skaters and top favourites, chances of either Medvyedeva or Tuktamysheva being 'nominated' in are still small. Both are likely to be declared reserves, and need to be fully competition ready and on stand-by?

No, Alina is not competing anymore this season. But maybe this is not the right thread to discuss that. :)

Anyway, I was so impressed by how Zhenya handled this whole video situation, she is such a classy lady! And she also asked people to tone it down and be kinder to each other on the internet. It was so nice to see that. She is definitely a role model.

Correct. The situation with Alina´s WD did not change much for Zhenya to make the Euro team. She needs to be 1th or 2th to be on the team. If she is 3th and one of the 3A is 4th than the Coaching Council will decide in favour of one of the 3A because of the better Grand Prix season and higher scoring potential. Realistic at the moment is to be the first spare.
