Zhenya skated to Allergia and got a bit emotional after her performance She performed it so well. So happy she still has opportunities to skate at big moments. After all, she’s Zhenya Medvedeva, her skating deserves big audiences.

I loved seeing her today, especially in comparison to last year‘s RusNats gala. She‘s come so far. And Alegria is always a treat. It‘s just such a special program and while I‘m sad we never got to see it in its complete form, it still works incredibly well under show lights.

I also loved the many performances she did on the open, public ice rinks this winter. It must have been freezing but to see this program while snow is falling really gives it the whole circus vibe. Very magical.

Anyway, I did get a bit emotional when she finished her skate today, knowing she‘d have liked to perform at this gala not as a former champion but a medalist with a ticket to her second Olympics but it wasn‘t meant to be. She‘s still doing wonderfully for herself and it‘s incredible just how popular she currently is!

Just last week she was on the Urgant show with her Ice Age partner, got a new collaboration with Gloria Jeans and Tezenis, an advertisement for a new kids movie, and sponsor posts by Huawei Russia. Not to metion the fact that she‘s the ambassador for the Olympic uniform by Zasport and face of a campaign for the Moscow Exchange financial platform together with a chess grandmaster. I might miss her in competition but it’s great seeing her be so successful in her new life
