Overall, I am not a fan of labeling skaters as repeats of someone. Jirenbayev is a good skater in his own right, but iirc he doesn't have solid jumping technique/ability that distinguished Chan (for his decade).
I'm aware of that since I noticed at fstwt which they have gone overboard. I have to admit he needs to find a jumping coach that will help his specific needs and he's quite tall (around 180 cm) which it involves with money which Germany's cost of living expenses are much higher than in Bergamo Italy where Rakhat trains there most of the time.
Samodelkina's jumps are solid. Should be enough for second I hope.
I think that regardless her placement that she need to secure her CTES for this challenger which is the main priority as of the moment.

Misha has made a lot of improvements for a short period of time along with the opportunity to train overseas and he should be proud of himself.
I agree, that involves with retraining with the body that she have post puberty and the time that she have that she will get her 3A and one of her quads but more on her 3A before the Olympics.
Of course, no-one is peaking this time of year, but she's outscoring Hendrickx and her jumps are much better, her jumps are significantly better than Levito who got silver last year, and she's jumping better than Sakamoto at the moment (that will change though).
Given her back issues, I think it would be a very bad move for Sofya. The pre-rotation technique Tutberidze teaches puts enormous strain on skaters backs. I would be concerned that it would become a career-ending coaching move for Sofya. She needs to look after her back, not put even more strain on it.Eteri has something cooking here. Sofya has no long term coach at the moment, you cannot tell me the thought of taking her on hasn't crossed Eteri's mind. It's the only way she'll be at the Olympics or World's with a female skater.

Maybe they were never planning to go to Raf, but using him as a backup if Eteri isn't willing to take her on. Maybe force her to make a decision as well by saying we're heading over there in October. Setting Sofya up in California would come at enormous cost to the federation, it's a foreign culture, no guarantee of success. It's already the 5th October, and it's all gone quiet with Raf.

I understand you might be right, but it's a small sample size. I don't think Eteri would aim for ultra-c this season, or possibly at all. However, she could do back to back 3A jumps not long ago maybe 4-5 months ago. She would just perfect the program, improve the spins, increase stamina. She would be happy to go to World's this year with someone who could potentially get in the last group. Sofya right now can jump a lutz combo effortlessly. Jumps are probably the last things she will work on with her.
That reminds of what happened to Lilbet and sure that she got what she & her mom wanted but at the cost of her injuries which it brings an unpleasant taste to international viewers yet they didn't know that Tursynbaeva was with Etiri before she was forced to move out because of the ban in regard to the 2014 Sochi Olympics.Eteri has something cooking here. I understand on how you felt about both coaches although I would rather drop off Tammy Gambil than causing havoc on her rotions since she have cause enough damage to her skaters especially those who came from small fed countries.
