they have to adapt their program to the senior rythm, just like when junior singles add the missing elements to their programs when they switch to senior. i. e. Kazakova/Reviya had to do it when they did Euros

I actually like some nuggets in Zhilina's step sequence, like the 1.5 Lo she does. The program is bad overall though, and just sad to see her bomb like that. Maybe drop the 3A in the SP?

Can someone please correct me about the rules for junior SP, but is the solo triple still the same for everybody? Like is lutz the only triple this season you are allowed to perform? Otherwise, why not do the 3A as the optional triple instead of the combination? If that's the case then I think it is absolutely ridiculous that the required Axel in the SP can only be a double.

Hello fellow skating lovers! Aas usual, I'm way behind ... but I just watched a junior pair named Alina and Artem (last names? I'm bumfuzzled.) They are going to be some of my favorites if they can last.

They skated to John Travolta, and they danced! And he looks like Travolta! Can anyone help me with their last names and tell me more?

Alina Raskovalova / Artem Butaev from Perm, they came fifth. They did get fairly far, he didn't have a car, but he was splasing around.

Other names (Svetlana, from svet - light) were not included, so one still can't baptize a girl with that name.

Sorry for offtop and nitpicking, but Svetlana is a quasi-ancient slavic name. In fact it was made up in the beginning of 19th century by some russian writer (or poet, do not remember for sure) and a bit later popularized by other famous russian poet - Zhukovskiy - through his ballad "Svetlana". But it's true that this name has "svet" ("light") as its root and was stylized to look like an old slavic name

Btw, usually girls named Svetlana are baptized under the name Fotinia (Фотиния) (because this name of greek origin has the same meaning).

Yes, they have to demonstrate 3Lz as one solo jump (this year), and 2A for ladies 2/3A for gents as the other solo jump. Then it only combo left, and combo can consist of anything under 4 rotations. It’s very strict.

3Lz is the required solo jump. Well, Lutz is (junior ladies can do a triple or double).

I think they may start allowing 3A as the required axel type jump in the SP for junior ladies. I am not sure I want to see it.

But nuts! I've just realised that I'm going to miss Kirill's FS today He skates first but I'm going to Trivia at the pub tonight and it generally ends after 9pm (1pm Moscow time). I really enjoy going and it only happens once a month so I can't (and don't want to) skip it.

So please cheer him on for me, may the puffy sleeves puff! And the Olé Olé!

And also Ivan Popov and Maxim A if I'm not back in time then!

I'm guessing the other way round, just based on the fact that as a relative noob I passed the Blues pattern dance but I'd kill myself or my coach if I tried the Midnight Blues
