Penalties? I think that it will be 50/50 again, Russia with maybe some brilliance from Akinfeev again and sheer spirit has real chance to get that semi, what a story it will be...

I see that Subasic is inspired by Dudek dance from 2005 Stambul Champions League final:laugh:

Congrats to Croatia! Russia did a great job to advance to QF. England vs. Croatia should be very exciting.

Russia sabotaged themselves so silly, it's unbelievable, nerves just kicked in for some players...

I think Fernandez is the best right defender in the entire tournament. This guy is too good to be true.

The truth is, he was half of the Russian team. Russia needed a couple of players like him to be competitive at the quarterfinals. The best thing for Russia will be to build on their appearance in this world cup and the hall orginizing the cup thing. And not let be a firework. This team didn't have the quality of the 86's or 66's teams but it's up to them to make it a starting point.

All of the four remaining teams France, Belgium, England, Croatia are representative of the modern football that it's played in Europe at the highest level, mainly in CL. Plus being a team and not just a superstar player. I think they are not by chance there. Like them or not.

Yes, i think whoever wins the tournament, it will be well deserved win now, all garbage teams or unmotivated teams are out already.

Yes, it is definitely a nod towards this kind of football as an effective one on national level. It is more about team's performance in general than individual players. All 4 semi-finalists showed well-thought organization with proper tactics towards opponents (with some slips though, mainly in focus department) and tuning their games by their rules. It is no longer about reputation carried from 10, 20 or 30 years back, football tradition or exceptional players (or just expensive ones...). England and France being in semis, with what they have played, showed that re-inventing national football is possible.
