Gracie singled the lutz.
And doubled the solo jump.
PCS-wise she’s in a league of her own here but she’s not happy.

The series goes through October, yes? Do they have to get a certain overall score, or a certain score in both segments to qualify?I hope she's entered more than one of these;(
They have to have a score to qualify for Nationals, and the highest x number of scores go to Sectionals I believe. Maybe someone smarter than me can figure it out. https://www.usfigureskating.org/skate/compete/qualifying-competitions#spdThe series goes through October, yes? So I was actually thinking about this, as I was fairly worried about it when I realized Philly didn't count for her. Looking at the competitions, the ones that are left areI hope she's entered more than one of these;(
The new rules are very confusing but I believe the general gist is that top 4 from each region make it to sectionals and then the next 6 best scores from the section. So, Gracie skates in the South Atlantic region, and currently the top score from that region is Ting with a 156.70. The 4th best score currently is 112.90, but I imagine many of these skaters are going to compete 1 or 2 more times to up their scores. Also, I can't find the rule written where it says who gets a bye to sectionals, I believe it's if you have a Challenger or a Grand Prix, but I don't remember where I got that, so don't quote me! So, making Sectionals shouldn't be too difficult, especially if she can get to another NQS and score a bit better (if I am reading the rules correctly). They have to have a score to qualify for Nationals, and the highest x number of scores go to Sectionals I believe. She has been known to have Mirai and Max step in to the Road to Gold in her place as they did when she competed at Philly. So I was actually thinking about this, as I was fairly worried about it when I realized Philly didn't count for her. Looking at the competitions, the ones that are left are
Sherwood Invitational (In Oregon) next weekend
Skate Houston (Texas) First weekend of September
Mid Atlantics (New York) Sept 8-11
Greater Chicagoland September 9-11
Skate St Moritz (California) September 9-11
John Smith Memorial (NC) September 9-11
Pasadena Open (California) September 15-18
Austin Autumn Classic (Texas) September 22-25
Challenge Cup (PA) September 22-25
If she's trying to stay somewhat local, that probably leaves Mid Atlantics and Challenge Cup. However, I think I saw on her social media that she is doing a seminar in Alaska September 10-11, so that really only leaves Challenge Cup, unless she's going to travel to California or Texas. The Challenge Cup rink is fairly small with no walls, and I could see it not being a great place for her to compete, but who knows?

However, getting out of sectionals in November seems much more difficult than previous years. They are taking the top 2 scores from sectionals and then filling up the rest of the 18 spots by scores AFTER adding in the byes.
So, anyone who placed top 5 last year has byes. Those that are currently competing would be Isabeau, Gabby Izzo, and Lindsey. Also, world team members have byes, but so far we haven't heard if any are coming back. Then if you make the GP Final or JGP Final. Also, if you are assigned and compete at 3 international assignments such as GP, JGP and Challenger events. So, this would probably include Audrey Shin, Amber, Brodie and Starr at a minimum.
1. Isabeau
2. Gabby Izzo
3. Lindsey
4. Audrey
5. Amber
6. Starr
7. Bradie
8. Eastern Sectionals 1
9. Eastern Sectionals 2
10. Midwestern Sectionals 1
11. Midwestern Sectionals 2
12. Pacific Coast 1
13. Pacific Coast 2
14.
15.
16.
17.
18.
So, I believe this is probably best case scenario. Sorry for the long drawn out explanation, I hope it makes sense.
Bottom line, yes Gracie probably needs to do another NQS unless she gets a Challenger or GP but making it to Sectionals is very doable. It's Sectionals where it gets difficult.
Edited because I forgot Bradie has 2 GPs so I imagine she will get a challenger and a bye to Nationals as well!
And if someone like Claire Seo competes Senior nationally and has 2 JGP and then either gets a Challenger or makes the JGPF, it could be another spot that is taken with a bye.
I think they might be running behind. The Novice group just finished. If it’s on the same ice surface they probably had to zam.Why is it not updating? Do I have the time wrong?
I can't even. I may never be able to even again.I think they might be running behind. The Novice group just finished. If it’s on the same ice surface they probably had to zam.
