Anyone see the wrong sides double axel she was attempting. Pretty sure it was a new video because of her hair. So glad to see snippets of her on the ice.

she really seems to be yearning for comeback when the time comes.

I wonder how different would her programs be if she comes back.
Is anyone else as bummed as me over her evident retirement?
But is she really retired? I feel like we need to hear it from her. Even back in January she still sounded like she wanted to compete again and I haven’t heard differently from her. It’s all speculation.
And I think that coaching might be exactly what she needs. She also might be able to see things in others that help her better herself. I've heard that teaching something is one of the best ways to truly learn.
I don't think Gracie is retired, as she didn't say so. Several top tier US figure skaters coach and compete ... Top of that list is Grant Hochstein, who wrote about how coaching has helped his skating and inspired him for years. It helped him obsess less about his skating. However, Grant is retired now.
If other American ladies' results this year (sorry no disrespect meant) won't inspire Gracie to return I don't know what will. I am still hopeful!

Randomly will mention that Gracie recently was at IceWorks in Aston, Pa., for an Olympian-related event.
She did some teaching while she was there.
Her Twitter says she's coaching 8 hours per day. How much time would that leave her to train?
Not much! Teaching is exhausting, too, especially when one first begins. I don't keep up with her on Twitter, so thanks for that information.
Still, things could change, and she didn't say "I'm retiring from competitive skating." Things could change. But if she finds more joy and fulfillment in coaching, that's for her to evaluate and decide in the future. I wish Gracie well and much happiness.
I really miss her - but I would only want her to continue to compete if she could do it on her own terms and without sacrificing her happiness.
I want Gracie to compete again so badly I can taste it. But I just can't see it. Is there even anyone to coach her in..where is she now, Arizona? If she had wanted to coach on the side I am sure she could have stayed where she was and coached part time at that rink. I can't see any rink not being very happy to have her coaching there. She's not going to get any GP assignments..would she have to qualify to nationals? I will be the first one to don my party hat and HAPPILY eat my words if I am wrong. With bells on!
Yes, I see your points. Well, someone said her boyfriend is in Arizona?
I'm thinking about what Aljona Savchenko said yesterday. Someone asked her about future plans, and she said, "I can think about tomorrow. I can think about next week."
So maybe Gracie is just taking things one step at a time for now. If she goes back to competing, doors will be open for her. I'm sure.
In that last picture I saw of her, she looked so happy. As oatmella said, her happiness is more important. It's hard for us hard-core fans though!.
Unless her boyfriend is an athlete who needs to remain in Arizona to train (possible), he coulda moved. Just sayin.
