Gracie Gold

And the jumps already look as big, high, beautiful and elegant as in the past. She is a delight to watch.
Absolutely. Its a shame she is not participating at nationals. I honestly enjoyed her performance at rostelcom cup. It was just nice to see her, totally in form or not. Our girl is a fighter

I totally agree. I loved the program. It was so full of emotions and transitions. And she looked stunning.

Now she can jump 2a,3s,3l. That is incredibly actually. So cool

Now for her 3Lz+3T:pray:
Whether or not she gets it back consistently again, I'm just glad she's back on the ice and that she's improving. Does anyone know if there are any b-level comps at the end of the season that she might go to?

she had one of the best lz in the business. so i am really optimistic for her lutz. its only a matter of time. But we fans should just enjoy her presents and skating without putting to much pressure on her fragile soul.

Agree. As long as she's happy, we should be too

Looks pretty nice! :agree:

Although I am sorry to have to comment this, but I feel that Vincent shouldn't be boasting that she's lost 35 lbs. Yes, it is okay to say something like 'she's in better shape than ever' or 'getting competition ready', etc., but I don't see the need in posting that someone has lost xx amount of weight, especially when the person you're speaking about has had an eating disorder. Focusing on numbers (I'll burn 500 calories every workout, I can only eat 4 300-calorie meals a day, I need to lose 1.5 lbs a week) is super common in eating disorders. Not trying to bash Vincent here, just saying...

No, you’re definitely right. I don’t even have an ED but I’ve suffered from depression and my weight has yo-yoed a lot. I’ve learned that the scale isn’t the enemy, but obsession about weight as a number is really easy to do when you have low self esteem, even when you’re not prone to ED thoughts.

I’m not afraid to say that I’m bashing Vincent in this respect. I like the idea of videos once in a while but I feel like he doesn’t know how to utilize it as well as Tom Z does, and the focus is not really on Gracie training but rather on “look at all the things she can do!” In an overcompensating way. In some ways I think Alex O was the one who understood her the best, but I’m not sure he would be a good mental fit anymore. I appreciate Vincent’s enthusiasm but I do question his execution a bit

When did he make that comment?? That seems like a very bad choice of words considering what she went through...

I think it is ok to point out the facts from his side. It is part of his job as a figure skating coach to monitor the weight of his students. I am glad he is very open honest with gracie regarding this sensitive issue.

It's one thing to monitor your student's weight, but another to publicise it on social media.

they choose an open and honest approach in documenting her progress. I trust in gracies intelligence. She for sure nows that weight is a sensitive issue for her. And she sure knows that weight is an important factor in figure skating and there is a lot of emphasis on it. Having in mind all of this aspects, she deliberatly choose to come back and choose deliberatly this exact coach. so please, lets not interfere with negativity. The whole posting was very positve in general. No need to blow up small things. It is now the time to support her and to trust her and her intelligence. That is all I am asking.

Nobody said anything about Gracie herself. We aren't here to spread negativity but to express concern. We just pointed out that posting exact numbers on social media was a questionable thing to do of her coach given her history with an ED. The caption has been edited so clearly they thought twice of it.

That was a beautiful interview- Gracie is such a strong, beautiful person. I hope when we see her on competitive ice again she can skate with joy again.

That interview made me a bit sober. Gracie really opened up and I feel like all the questions we have had were answered. It all also made me appreciate Vincent more as well, it sounds like he really believes in her.
