Gracie Gold

I've been watching her IG too...it seems strange that she's gone so long without posting...Usually she says something, regardless of the outcome of her skate.

She posted cat pictures! Hahah. That showed up on my feed today!

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to spread the project wider? I know Gracie has a ton of fans, I only have 5 messages for the project.

I'm not really that up on instagram but there are always tons of posts when she posts something. Is there anyway you could tag those people that seem like supportive fans on instagram (without tagging her)? That's all I can think of right now.

I've tried messaging people who had posted encouraging messages on her posts.

Oh, well that's sad that not many responded. I saw a couple of posts that started with "not sure you'll see this", I wonder could we include those? If you want me to try messaging people to "remind" them that this is in progress I'm willing to try.

That would be a great help, it's difficult to message on my phone.

Went to a local rink today in hopes of seeing Shoma practicing there. Look who else happened to be there! She was working her heart out, and she looked fit and trim. Had a chance to just briefly speak with her. Come on Gracie! You can do it! Believe in yourself! Told her I'll see her in KC!

I hope she sees a psychiatrist and or psychologist and if clinically indicated, take the appropriate therapy or treatment.

I do hope they can create holograms in the rink with full house and a skater skates the skate of their life and scores the highest scores ever. Then she has to skate immediately after a World record score. If she replays this over and over again, she can adapt to this scenario and skate flawlessly.

At the end of the day Gracie, it is only sport , what matters is you're alive and you're enjoying and celebrating life! #YOLO

I hope she takes medications for depression.

Are skaters allowed to take those types of medications?

And honestly, while holograms are cool, nothing beats the real thing, especially when you know it's the real thing. My dad has a VR gaming system so I've played around with that and while it's fun and interactive, I am aware that it's not real.

The bunny bag is so cute! She looks happy there, maybe she was in Chicago visiting family for the holidays?

The bunny bag was really too cute! I wouldn't mind one myself! Pure guessing on my part - I would say she is in Chicago for the holidays, in fact I'm pretty sure her mother was sitting in front of me. She was just there practicing, not taking any kind of lesson. Very little (if any) interaction between her and Alex during the 30 minutes I saw her on the ice - not saying anything positive or negative there, just saying what I saw. She looked to be in good spirits and was talking to everyone after her ice time was up. She was very friendly.

Walked into the rink and was delighted to see 2 National champions (Gracie & Shoma) on the ice at the same time. No interaction, as they were both very hard at work practicing! Gracie put in a long, hard day - and it was so wonderful to see her supportive mom sitting in the stands! She worked on jumps a lot, and her SP tango played several times and she did bits and pieces of that. She had a little more interaction today with Alex, and every now and then he gave her a pointer or two on a jump. Couldn't get any pictures of her today. Go Gracie Go! :hap85: :dance3::clap:

So glad to hear :hap85:

I would love to see the "old" Gracie back. Her big jumps, a bit unpolished and rough around the edges but with great energy and attack. I don't think Carroll "ruined" her, but definitely something went wrong with her career. I hope going back to her roots, even if for a little while will help her get her spark back

I hated that program at the time but would give anything to go back to that Gracie now, I agree with you. The hardest thing to see is that she really does seem to have lost the love for the sport, I'd let her do the windmill arms and cheesy and slightly inappropriate smiles to Holocaust music any day over this (and I honestly do mean that in the best way possible, I'm sincere in my sentiment).

That was the theme of that film, how Benigni brought the smile even in such dramatic circumstances.

Maybe she could try to change the choreographer instead of changing the coach. Lori is great but her programs sometimes they all look the same, she should bring back Pasquale Camerlengo, he choreographed some masterpiece for Akiko Suzuki in the past.

I think she'll be mostly back in form at nationals, and that the break she took will be great for her in the long run. She's very hardworking and I really believe she'll get back to the top soon!
