Gracie Gold

TSL said (based on eyewitness report) that she is working on triples thru 3z now off harness but not yet in programs. They said she still has great height in her jumps but is not yet landing them consistently - maybe 1 out of 3.

A friend of mine saw Gracie at the Philadelphia competition and had a chance to talk with her a little bit. He didn't want to share too much but said she seemed very upbeat and positive. Thinking good thoughts for her Grand Prix assignment! :)

Good luck to Gracie for her upcoming season and the GP event. Regardless of how this works out, she's such a strong person for simply trying to come back after all the struggles she had to endure. While I never was a big fan of her programs, I could relate to her on a personal level because she always seemed like such a genuine person and she was always so hard on herself when she didn't need to be. She was always trying her best and that's the most important. Some things aren't supposed to work out the way we want them to but that doesn't mean it's our fault. Gracie didn't have it easy. But she never gave up and here she is, working on her comeback and her jumps. Rock it this season, Gracie, I know you have it in you!

I am so excite for her comeback, I just want to see her happy and healthy and this seems to be a decision she is very happy with.

I don't think they should give it to her. She doesn't need to be under the pressure of being at Skate America. She should take the comeback trail slowly.

I really miss her on ice, my lack of intrest last season was also due her not being there anymore, among with Yulia and a few others. She has always made me happy, always took the pain away, such a gifted young lady. If she competes at Moscow this year, I will go for sure. Even if they have to roll me into the arena in a wheelchair, I will be there

I hope Gracie knows that so many fans wishing her well! We don't expect miracles straight away but slow steady improvement over course of the season. Please do not pile pressure on yourself Gracie :luv17: We will be happy just to see you!

From the photos of the group at Champs Camp, it appears that Megan Wessenberg was invited which generally means that she got the TBA spot at Skate America, which of course means that Gracie will likely not get it. I'm just excited to see her skate again. She sounds positive and optimistic from the little she has posted on social media.

Just posted in the US Ladies thread, but I love the free skate music choice by Gracie. So fitting and such a great song.

Gracie talking to some random dude. Pretty long talk. She discusses depression in depth and says some really...uh, interesting things, including referring to her own skating (in the past) as "plastic, Barbie, prim-and-proper", and talking about an incident where she cussed out USFS federation people.

She actually gets really philosophical about skating and life in general. It's a little bit unexpected since the Gracie we are always presented with in media is a bit...manufactured. She comes off as very real here, and I'm glad she seems to be be in a good place now. Hope she has a good comeback!

An hour and twenty minutes long, but definitely worth a listen. I enjoyed it. Thx for posting.

I really enjoyed listening to her. Very motivating and inspirational. No matter how she does I am a dedicated fan. I love how open she is being about her struggles.
