... on the call for everyone to exercise one of our most important rights - the right to vote for who will lead our cities, states, federal government, etc.
While I'm not a fan of Nader's political views, I admire his stamina to stay in the game and do his best to make his voice heard. That's the American way.
I think the debates would have been much more interesting had Nader been a part of them.
As with so many things these days, including figure skating AND politics, we largely rely on TV programming for information. I think one of the most powerful ways that the collective citizens can see more political news and debate beyond the two major parties is to make our voices heard. Just like voting and the sometimes attitude that an individual vote doesn't matter, I think sometimes we feel our individual commentary to the media doesn't really matter. But it takes individuals voicing opinions to create a collective groundswell. And HEY - all TV programming relies on ad sponsors, and individuals can boycott sponsors if we don't like the programming offered. So there are two ways to attempt to influence what we see on the tube.
Mean time, I sure hope that EVERY person serving abroad in the military has their fair opportunity to vote. Please keep us posted on that one!
