I’m so happy for Ilia and Team USA! That was a lot of pressure for Ilia but he rose to the occasion. I liked that it was his idea to do the FS, and that he decided it was the best strategy for him to get more experience on Olympic ice. There were so many cute moments with the team during and before the medal ceremony. It was really fun to watch.

I'm still getting used to the words, "Ilia Malinin, Olympic Team Champion." Even though there was expectation that the US team would win, it's hitting hard! Many heartwarming moments with the team.

I hope that Ilia can have the performance he wants in the short program tomorrow. I'll be envisioning beautiful quads and flawless spins with all my might.

That wasn't his team gold medal. His cats are back home I think. I think it's a different medal.

At olympic practice today

In less than 20 hours from now, the FP will be done. I can't believe how a lot happened since Ilia was not named to the 2022 Olympics. In terms of how much Ilia has achieved. It'll all come down to one performance. And I'm of course very nervous.

He didn't. That wasn't his Olympic medal. It was a different medal. I think somewhere he said he wish he was able to bring his cats.

No cats in the Olympic Village? That's really disappointing... I get that there's probably Olympians with cat allergies out there, but cats bring a lot of joy to people's lives. Although I'm not the kind of person who takes her cat everywhere, Olympians should have that option...
