Isabella Hope FLORES and Linus Colmor JEPSEN are Ice Dancers.

Isabella Flores was born on 30th April 2003 in Wiesbaden, Hesse, 🇩🇪 Germany.

Linus Colmor Jepsen was born on 16th March 2001 in Copenhagen, Hovedstaden, 🇩🇰 Denmark.

This is going to be a slightly different Fan Fest. There is already a thread about Linus’ Singles career. So, rather than repeat everything here, the additional OP in this thread will focus on Isabella.

Consequently, rather than having just one “Original Post”, this Fan Fest has three!

The first post (this one) is for the current Ice Dance partnership.
The second post is for Isabella’s former partnerships.
The third post is for Isabella as a Singles skater.

Personal Best Scores

The Personal Best and Season Best scores that the ISU uses for a skater only take into consideration certain competitions. For example, they do not take into consideration domestic competitions, such as Sectional, Regional or National Championships.

The table below takes into consideration all the events that the skater has taken part in. These scores are referred to as “Absolute Personal Best” and “Absolute Season’s Best” so as to distinguish them from the scores recorded by the ISU.

Absolute Personal Best Score
Absolute Season’s Best Score

The Absolute designations are based purely on the contents of the Competitive History table in this post. If anybody knows of any scores that are not in the table, please let us know, and we will be only too happy to add them in.

Isabella and Linus will be making their competitive debut today at the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships in Lake Placid, New York.

The Short Dance is due to start at 11:30:00 EDT (09:30:00 MDT / 15:30:00 GMT / 16:30:00 BST / 17:30:00 CET). So 10 hours from now.

Isabella and Linus will be the 4th partnership to start.

And that is as much as I can tell you, because the USFS Entries / Results pages do not include Time Schedules.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

More information in the event thread:

Hope this helps

Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships Senior Short Dance: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Isabella and Linus finished 2nd out of 6 in the Short Dance, with a score of 60.06.

Unfortunately, the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships are not being streamed. So I have not seen the programme. But, from looking at the Protocols, they only seemed to have one issue. And that was with the Twizzles.

The Twizzles were the only element that got negative GOE, at -0.80. In terms of Judges marks, they got -2 from Judge 1; -1 from three Judges; and 0 from Judge 5.

Everything else got positive GOE, ranging from +0.80 for the Rotational Lift that was their penultimate element; to +3.00 for the Choreographic Spin that ended the programme. All the Judges marks for the elements other than the Twizzles were +1 or +2.

Isabella and Linus are currently 7.54 points behind 1st position, Amy CUI / Jonathan ROGERS (SC of Boston / Texas Gulf Coast FSC), and 4.17 points ahead of 3rd position, Grace YI / Danila SAVELEV (SC of New York).

Given the gaps either side of them, in all probability Isabella and Linus are going to finish in 2nd position. But, ice is slippery, and if any of the three partnerships make istakes, then it is possible that changes could happen. So, Isabella and Linus need to make sure they do the best that they can when they go out there.

So, let's hope they have a good Free Dance!

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Free Dance is due to start at 09:40:00 EDT (07:40:00 MDT / 13:40:00 GMT / 14:40:00 BST / 15:40:00 CET). So 8 hours from now.

Isabella and Linus will be the 4th and antepenultimate partnership to start.

And that is as much as I can tell you, because the USFS Entries / Results pages do not include Time Schedules.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships Senior Free Dance: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Isabella and Linus finished 2nd out of 6 in the FD, with a score of 83.49. This meant that they remained 2nd position overall, with a score of 143.55.

Unfortunately, the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships are not being streamed. So I have not seen the programme.

Looking at the Protocols, there were a few more issues than there were the day before.

There were three elements that had negative numbers next to them. Their second element, the Straight Line Lift-Rotational Lift, had the smallest GOE hit, at -0.32. But because it had the highest Base Value of the programme by miles, it remained the highest scoring element of the programme by miles. The Judges gave it two -1's; and three 0's.

Like in the Short the day before, the Twizzles were again an issue. They had the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.21. This time, the Judges marks were two -2's; and three -1's.

The penultimate element, the Curved Lift, also had a raather big GOE hit, at -0.96. It got -3 from Judge 1; -2 from three Judges; and 0 from Judge 3.

The Choreographic Step Sequence that they did just before it was completely neutral in terms of GOE and Judges marks.

The other elements all got positive GOE, ranging from +0.55 for the Choreographic Lift at the end; to +1.66 for the Choreographic Slide that was their sixth element. The Judges marks ranged from 0 to +2, with the aformentioned Choreographic Slide getting the best Judges marks with +2 from all five Judges.

Isabella and Linus finished the Free Dance 19.23 points behind 1st position, Amy CUI / Jonathan ROGERS (SC of Boston / Texas Gulf Coast FSC), and 0.07 points ahead of 3rd position, Grace YI / Danila SAVELEV (SC of New York).

Overall, Isabella and Linus finished 26.77 points behind 1st position, Cui / Rogers, and 4.24 points ahead of 3rd position, Yi / Savelev.

Well, as I suspected would happen, everybody finished in the same position that they were in after the Short. In fact, they all finished in the same position in both segments, as well as overall. But, boys but it was close for 2nd in the Free! Isabella and Linus were only just ahead of Grace and Danila.

Isabella and Linus were very lucky that Grace and Danila were called for an extended lift, because if it hadn't have been for that 1 point deduction, Grace and Danila would have been 2nd in the Free rather than Isabella and Linus. That said, it wouldn't have made any difference to the overall positions.

The Base Value for Grace and Danila's Free Dance programme was exacly one point higher than Isabella and Linus's programme. But, the New York partnership ended up with a much higher Technical Elements Score, because they made fewer mistakes.

Considering this is their first competition together, I think Isabella and Linus did very well to finish 2nd in both segments, and overall. It would be asking a bit much to expect everything to go perfectly.

However, if they plan to compete in the American field, they are going to have to try to eliminate the mistakes, and up the Base Values of their programmes dramatically. Because the scores the winners achieved wouldn't even have made it into the Top 10 in last season's American Nationals. (The partnerships that Isabella and Linus are sandwiched between here finished 13th and 14th respectively at Nationals). So, they will need to increase their scores quickly if they want to get considered for international assignments.

Incidentally, their scores today would have put them 6th in last season's French Nationals. But, there will be additional partnerships this season, so it could be tricky there too.

Personally, I would love to see Isabella and Linus representing México. Not only would they get international assignments, but they could also earn more international assignments for Harlow STANLEY / Seiji URANO. Plus, it would push Harlow and Seiji forward if they had competition on the domestic scene. Incidentally, Harlow and Seiji were also competing at the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships, finishing 20th out of 21 in the ISU part of the event with a score of 114.05.

It'll be interesting to see where they do opt for.

Isabella and Linus finished 10th out of 26 in the Short Dance, with a score of 67.71.

My first comment about them was actually about 40 minutes before the competition started:

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

And here is what I wrote about their programme:

At the start of the Warm-Up, my Norewgian friend @norwegianfairytale commented:

To which I replied:

To which Italian member @bartlebooth replied:

The first two comments about the programme came from @norwegianfairytale too:

@bartlebooth then commented:

To which their fellow Italian @elektra blue replied:

latex :ROFLMAO: roarrrr

(I quoted rather than embedded because the rest of the post was part of a discussion that wasn't related to Isabella and Linus)

In classic Sicilian fashion, @elektra blue didn't mess about when giving her own opinion:

Polish member @Karoltyna didn't really like it:

But our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, was on form:

@Seven Sisters balanced negativity with positivity:

Not-the-band @cocteautwin was pretty fair in their assessment:

@Baron Vladimir told us a story to explain their opinion:

To which @elektra blue replied:

My fellow British member @throw_triple_flip's stream was running behind, so commented a bit later with a suggestion:

Looking at the Protocols, there was not a single negative number to be seen! The GOE ranged from +0.96 for the second element, the Twizzles, to +3.30 for the final element, the Choreographic Rhythm Sequence. Apart from a 0 from Judge 2 for the aforementioned Twizzles, all the Judges marks were in the +1 to +3 range.

Isabella and Linus are currently 0.39 points behind 9th position, Victoria MANNI / Carlo ROETHLISBERGER (ITA), and 0.63 points ahead of 11th position, Shira ICHILOV / Mikhail NOSOVITSKIY (ISR). All three partnerships are part of a group where 11 partnerships are covered by 6.79 points, stretching from Marie DUPAYAGE / Thomas NABAIS (FRA) in 6th position, 1.42 points ahead of Isabella and Linus, down to Zoe LARSON / Andrii KAPRAN (UKR) in 16th poisition, 5.37 points behind Isabella and Linus.

For those that are wondering, Sofía VAL / Asaf KAZIMOV (ESP) were in 7th position, 1.10 points ahead of Isabella and Linus.

With being right bang in the middle of a group this big and this tight, Isabella and Linus are in a precarious position. They could easily move up considerably, or they could easily move down considerably. So, they really do need to put in a good Free Dance to make sure it is up rather than down.

So, let's hope they have a good Free Dance!

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Free Dance is due to start at 18:00:00 CET (10:00:00 MST / 17:00:00 GMT). So 8 hours from now.

Isabella and Linus will be the 16th partnership to start. So, first partnership to go in Group 4.

And that is as much as I can tell you, as the Time Schedule PDF for the Free Dance is not working. (The PDF for the Men's SP earlier in the day is working, so the Free Dance PDF will probably appear later).

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Isabella and Linus finished 19th out of 25 in the FD, with a score of 93.77. This meant that they dropped to 16th position overall, with a score of 161.48.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

And here is what I wrote about their programme:

The first to comment about them was our resident video archive list compiler, @labgoat, who wrote:

My good friend in Sicily, @elektra blue, commented:

And her fellow Italian @bartlebooth agreed:

They didn't make a great first impression on Polish member @Karoltyna:

But our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, was being ultra positive:

Not-the-band @cocteautwin was more realistic:

To which @Karoltyna later replied:

@auser singled out some particular elements that had issues:

And @maofan tried to balance it up:

My fellow British member @FlossieH was on the fence:

The last sentence of which @ramurphy2005 replied to with this:

And after making the first comment about their programme, @labgoat came back to make the last comment as well:

Looking at the Protocols, there were only actually two elements that had issues. The first was the issue that I spotted: the fourth element, the Twizzles. They had the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.26, which meant that they went from having the fifth highest / fifth lowest GOE of the programme to being the third lowest scoring element of the programme. It got -4 from Judge 4; -3 from three Judges; -2 from two Judges; and -1 from Judge 6.

The other issue was the one that everybody else spotted: the penultiamte element, the Curved Lift. It had the smallest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.38, which meant that it went from having the fourth lowest Base Value of the programme to being the second lowest scoring element of the programme. it got -2 from two Judges; -1 from two Judges; 0 from two Judges; and +1 from Judge 5.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +1.00 for the final element, the Choreographic Lift, to +2.30 for the second element, the Straight Line Lift-Roller Lift. The former had the joint lowest Base Value of the programme, so it became in it's own right the lowest scoring element of the programme. The latter already had by miles the highest Base Value of the programme, so it remained by miles the highest scoring element of the programme. Apart from a +4 from Judge 4 for the second element, all the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the 0 to +3 range.

Isabella and Linus finished the Free Dance 0.02 points behind 18th position, Arianna SASSI / Luca MORINI (CHE), and 1.01 points ahead of 20th position, Carlotta ARGENTIERI / Francesco RIVA (ITA). All three partnerships are part of a group where 5 partnerships are covered by 3.37 points, stretching from Zofia GRZEGORZEWSKA / Oleg MURATOV (POL) in 17th position, 0.35 points ahead of Isabella and Linus, down to Emese CSISZER / Mark SHAPIRO (HUN) in 21st poisition, 3.02 points behind Isabella and Linus.

Overall, Isabella and Linus finished 2.57 points behind 15th position, Zoe LARSON / Andrii KAPRAN (UKR), and 4.66 points ahead of 17th position, Sofiia DOVHAL / Wiktor KULESZA (POL).

Well, now that I have seen them in action, I have mixed feelings. I loved the Free Dance programme, but I didn't like the Short Dance programme. On the whole, I was impressed. Sure there were issues, but they are a new partnership. You expect there to be teething issues.

However, after reading the comments of those that are more familiar with Isabella than I am, I am starting to get that feeling that this partnership may not last long. I hope that feeling is wrong. With each of them having had so many failed partnerships, they both deserve to have a successful partnership. And it would be fitting if that was with each other.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

Isabella and Linus finished 5th out of 12 in the Short Dance, with a score of 66.36.

I will go through the Protocols when I get the chance.

Isabella and Linus are currently 1.09 points behind 4th position, Zoe LARSON / Andrii KAPRAN (UKR), and 0.70 points ahead of 5th position, XIAO Zixi / HE Linghao (CHN).

With a 3.29 point gap ahead of the group to Mariia IGNATEVA / Danijil Leonyidovics SZEMKO (HUN) in 3rd position, and a 4.00 gap behind the group to Leia DOZZI / Pietro PAPETTI (ITA) in 7th position, in all probability, Isabella and Linus are in a fight over 4th, 5th and 6th positions. So, they need a good Free Dance to make sure they climb to 4th position, and don't drop to 6th position.

So, let's hope they have a good Free Dance!

Isabella and Linus finished 6th out of 12 in the FD, with a score of 97.22. This meant that they remained in 5th position overall, with a score of 163.58.

When I have a chance, I'll go through the Protocols.

Isabella and Linus finished the Free Dance 4.14 points behind 5th position, Leia DOZZI / Pietro PAPETTI (ITA), and 3.36 points ahead of 7th position, XIAO Zixi / HE Linghao (CHN).

Overall, Isabella and Linus finished 6.83 points behind 4h position, Zoe LARSON / Andrii KAPRAN (UKR), and 0.56 points ahead of 6th position, Dozzi / Papetti.

Talk about being a whisker off all of their Absolute PB scores! Less than one and a half points lower than their best ever score for the SD, and less than half a point lower than their best ever scores for the FD and overall!

Well, you can't accuse them of being inconsistent.

I'm not sure if they will be in action again before Nationals. But, hopefully they will continue in to improve as they get more experienced with each other.

Isabella and Linus finished 13th out of 15 in the Short Dance, with a score of 66.37.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch LIVE as (a.) I am in the UK and the coverage is geo-blocked over here and (b.) I was already in bed anyway. :bed:

The first comment about them in the competition thread came during the Warm-Up from @Lamente Ariane, the member who used to have an avatar showing actress Veronica Lake, but now has a picture of Ashley Wagner instead:

After the programme, @auser commented:

@Lamente Ariane then came back with a comment that I think was about Isabella and Linus, but may have been about the next partnership:

A few hours after the competition finished, @skylark posted a long comment about them:

And a few hours after that, original forum member @Mathman commented:

Looking at the Protocols, there were no issues. The GOE ranged from +0.80 for the third element, the Pattern Step, to +2.57 for the final element, the Choreographic Rhythm Sequence. Ironically, despite getting by far the highest GOE of the programme, the Choreographic Rhythm Sequence was actually the lowest scoring element of the programme, because it had the lowest Base Value of the programme. The first three elements had by some distance the three highest Base Values of the programme and, hence, remained the three highest scoring elements of the programme.

Apart from a +3 from Judge 3 for the aforementioned Choreographic Rhythm Sequence, all of the Judges marks were in the 0 to +2 range.

Isabella and Linus are currently 1.23 points behind 12th position, Amy CUI / Jonathan ROGERS (SC of Boston / Texas Gulf Coast FSC), and 1.22 points ahead of 14th position, Raffaella KONCIUS / Alexey SHCHEPETOV (Los Angeles FSC / Los Angeles FSC).

Ahead of Cui / Rogers is a gap of exactly 2 points to Elliana PEAL / Ethan PEAL (Scott Hamilton SC / Scott Hamilton SC) in 11th position, 3.23 points ahead of Isabella and Linus.

If Isabella and Linus put in a good Free Dance, there is a chance that they could catch the Peals. But, the Peals will be going all out to catch the group ahead of them, especially since the double National Champions, and fellow sibling partnership, Maia SHIBUTANI / Alex SHIBUTANI (SC of New York / SC of New York) are just one position ahead of them. So, I think the priority for Isabella and Linus should be to get to the top of the group they are in. And if they do catch the Peals, that would be an added bonus,

So, let's hope they have a good Free Dance!

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Free Dance is due to start at 14:28:00 CST (13:28:00 MST / 20:28:00 GMT / 21:28:00 CET). So 8 hours from now.

Isabella and Linus will be the 3rd partnership to start. So, third and middle partnership to go in Group 1.

The Group 1 Warm-Up is due to start at 14:28:00 CST (13:28:00 MST / 20:28:00 GMT / 21:28:00 CET). So 8 hours from now.

Isabella and Linus are due to start at 14:49:30 CST (13:49:30 MST / 20:49:30 GMT / 21:49:30 CET). So 8h 21m from now.

Isabella and Linus finished 15th out of 15 in the FD, with a score of 94.38. This meant that they dropped to 14th position overall, with a score of 160.75.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch LIVE as I am in the UK and the coverage is geo-blocked over here. (I was in the middle of watching a film at the time Group 1 was happening).

The problem with not watching LIVE is that it is hard to tell which comments in the competition thread were about Isabella and Linus and which were not, because a lot of members were not stating who they were commenting about. There are only a couple of comments that do specifically name them, so I will just include them.

The first came from @auser, who said:

To which our resident video archive list compiler, @labgoat, replied:

(JLB, of course, being British Ice Dancer Jean-Luc Baker, who represented America with Kaitlin Hawayek).

Looking at the Protocols, there was only one issue. And it was the fourth element, the dreaded Twizzles. It got the only GOE hit of the programme, at -0.31, but because it had the third highest Base Value of the programme, it only dropped to became the fourth highest scoring element of the programme.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +0.15 for the fifth element, the Serpentine Step Sequence, to +2.06 for the second element, the Straight Line Lift-Roller Lift. The former had the second highest Base Value of the programme, and so remained the second highest scoring element of the programme. And the latter already had by miles the highest Base Value of the programme, so it remained by miles the highest scoring element of the programme.

All of the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the -1 to +3 range. All three of the -1's were for the Serpentine Step Sequence. Two of the +3's were for the Straight Line Lift-Roller Lift, and the third was from Judge 3 for the sixth element, the Choreographic Slide.

Isabella and Linus finished the Free Dance 2.57 points behind 14th position, Eva PATE / Logan BYE (Cleveland SC / SC of New York), and 2.83 points behind 13th position, Vanessa PHAM / Anton SPIRIDONOV (SC of Houston / SC of New York).

Overall, Isabella and Linus finished 5.87 points behind 13th position, Raffaella KONCIUS / Alexey SHCHEPETOV (Los Angeles FSC / Los Angeles FSC), and 2.13 points ahead of 15th position, Pham / Spiridonov.

Of course, they will be disappointed to finish in antepenultimate position in the SD, last position in the FD, and penultimate position overall. But, this is a brand new partnership. It takes time for new partners to get to know how each other works, and for them to gel as a partnership.

I hope these results don't make them decide that it isn't working and to call it a day. Although the positions aren't what they would have wanted, they are actually skating well together. There is a lot of potential here. It is too early in the partnership to make assessments like that, anyway. And yet another single season partnership is the last thing that Linus needs.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:
