oh yeah.. that's right... i knew they weren't there.. but I didn't remember they had to W/D.... it gave Canada 3 spots ... but if you guys wanna trade 1 pair spot for a dance one, I am willing to sign on this.At Worlds both Ghilardi/Ambrosini and Conti/Macii got Covid and withdrew...hence only 1 spot
There is a deadline to get minimums for Euros, 4CC and Worlds. Normally, a country would send their champion to an international event (challenger) to get those minimums. There is a number of smaller competitions just before the deadlines for that sake.I haven't been following skating for very long. How do countries generally handle the case when the national champion doesn't have the minimum technical scores for Worlds, but others in their country do? I noticed that Lara Naki Gutmann hasn't met the requirements for SP. Would they likely send her to Europeans, but then send Anna Pezzetta to Worlds if Lara can't get the SP minimum at Europeans, or would they send Anna to both?
I think you might have misinterpreted my question. What I meant is that as of right now, Anna Pezzetta has the minimums needed for Worlds, but the actual champion, Lara Naki Gutmann, doesn't. Italy could send either of the two to Europeans, but would they be more likely to send Lara (who isn't eligible for Worlds yet but would be if she were to get 32 points at Europeans) or Anna (who is already eligible for Worlds)? There is a deadline to get minimums for Euros, 4CC and Worlds. they most likely will send Lara to Europeans because that's a great place to get her minimums and if she doesn't get them there, she has the above mentioned options. That is what most countries would do I would believe when there is only one spot available. Let your national champion try to qualify for it by herself.. and if not, they have a plan B.I think you might have misinterpreted my question. Thanks. Austria has a similar situation with Emily Saari, who doesn't have the minimums needed for Worlds. One difference there is that Emily's win seems like it was an upset, while Lara is probably legitimately the best Italian. Do we expect Austria to do the same thing - send Emily to Europeans to try to get her minimums - or would they just send Olga Mikutina or Stefanie Pesendorfer (both of whom already have the minimums for Worlds) to Europeans, since they might be expected to do better?they will send Lara to Europeans because that's a great place to get her minimums and if she doesn't get them there, she has the above mentioned options. each federation is different. Some give most weight to their national champion... others look at body of work.... and there are those who use both... I would think that Austria's best bet remains Olga but these things can also vary with injuries and momentum. Canada will most likely send their National champions no matter what (and will try everything so that the skater gets their minimums if they don't have them).Thanks. (i'm still not over it)Daniel is a bit ill, right? So Idk if going for a full FS was the best option but otoh he showed determination with this.

So will we ever get something like this for this year's Austrian Nationals or will they be forever buried in some obscure pay-per-view streaming service?I should have looked earlier
there's this wonderful account here https://www.youtube.com/@figureskatingitalia/playlists
where you can watch the whole comp in neat chronological playlists
So I'm gonna watch men now, I'm still curious cause I've avoided spoilers so far
