Maria Talalaikina (who previously skated for Russia) and a new ice dance pairing Leia Dozzi/Pietro Papetti (Leia previously skated for Hungary) will be appearing 'out of ranking/out of competition' in their respective segments.

I spent far too long studying Charlène's dress, trying to work out whether the bra part was joined onto the rest of it or whether it was a separate piece.

For the record, it was joined on. That stripe underneath it was flesh-coloured material, not actual flesh.

Have to say, I love the sparkly silver pentagram straps on her back.

Anyway my Mum was using the computer during the first two partnerships, so I don't have time to write any more before I wish all the best to my daughter and (as of this morning) my new son.

A nice first outing for Elisabetta and Mattia! What a fun program, and they really sold the choreography at the end, which is impressive. Their unison was also looking good, especially in the first set of twizzles. Looking forward to seeing their FD later on today!

For two newbies to Ice Dance, they were really good.

Some synchronicity issues in the Twizzles, but otherwise I didn't spot anything major.

Have to be honest, I wasn't keen on the music choices. Although I like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, I wouldn't have thought of putting "Shine Bright Like A Diamond" and "Born This Way" together. And I just plain didn't like the instrumental at the start.

But, my baby girl really did shine bright like a diamond. And Mattia wasn't bad either!

Of course, I realise that they'll go into third. The other two partnerships are far too experienced. But, it is the score that will be interesting.

They're taking a long time.

I think the male voice (referred as Davide) is the press officer of Italian Ice Sports Federation.
The female voice is ISU judge and technical controller Michela Cesaro.

Not bad at all. Twizzle issues (was it ever not thus?), but otherwise they were impressive. And Elisabetta was really selling it! (And I was buying! )

They are in third (of course), but they are less than 10 points behind the far more experienced Moscheni and Fioretti.

Just thought of looking at the Senior protocols, and saw that Elisabetta and Mattia got a deduction for an extended lift.

That's something they'll have to get used to. Making sure their timing is right.
