Jason Brown

It is! Especially when someone gives me the key to unlock it!!!
Also, now I see it is The Prince, Junhwan's SP, that Jason passes through.

In order for Jason to skate last in the FS,he would have to be in the top 3 after the short program and then draw the last spot.

Having watched both practice sessions, it looks like to me like he’s still fighting between old and new jump technique. In the FS the jumps were a bit better but still seem iffy. He does seem to be delivering the choreography better, and they’ve added a few things I like - a back spiral! But this could be a tough competition for him.

Let's have an informal vote... do we like the bowling shirt ore the gray tee from practice better? I think I like this gray number better.

Definitely the gray tee! I like the colors in the bowling shirt, but not the fit or stripes.

This photo from today's practice makes it look like the plane is a devil's tail. Can he keep that? ;)

Someone mentioned Ted Barton in a previous post. I will sometimes watch videos of skaters on youtube and hear "this guy" (not knowing who it was) and LOVED his commentary. NOW I know...it's Ted. He's just marvelous!!!

I vote the tee. The striped shirt just looks so Ozzie and Harriet to me.

What goes around comes around. I've noticed some of the Jonas Brothers wearing similar shirts lately. Wait... they're not exactly young are they?

I don't mind the LP shirt as much as others, but I do like the way he looks in the tee :)
.

Everyone knows I'm no fan of the bowling shirt, and I hope this isn't the wrong thing to say, but....

The black prints on the gray shirt; when I first saw them, I honestly thought they were sweat stains :eeking:

Maybe all gray;)

The live stream was taken down, but here are clips of both SP and FS:

The FS is growing on me. He actually looks much better in both programs. I just think the jumps, especially the combos, will take more time.

Love Ted's commentary on the SP. At one point, he almost sounds like he's speechless! Loved Jason's speed and flow across the ice. I enjoyed seeing him skate a program that isn't non-stop transitions, although that was always wonderful too! He still has his amazing trademarks though -- the incredible split jump and the catch-foot spin. Wow! And to boot, I honestly didn't recognize him with the haircut. He looks great. I would be thrilled to death to see him on the podium. He definitely had lots of fans in the audience today.

Whew, what a day! I'm finally back in my rental after a long day of traveling, exploring Montreal and, of course, checking out some of the practices (only caught men/pairs). :)

Anyway, some notes specifically on Jason. I only saw the afternoon practice, I was still in transit during the morning practice. Outside what you saw in the FS run-through video, he pretty much had everything EXCEPT the 4S. He kept popping like the first few attempts, then fell on them and then eventually kind of landed them. None of them were clean though. I was encouraged he managed to do most of the program clean (3S error aside) after popping the 4S. I also like they return to his money 3F-3T combo (and added a 3A-2T-2T!).

Now have seeing the FS in person, I'd say it's still a work in progress, but I definitely not in the mind that he should dump it. He definitely is connecting to the music a lot more and as some of you noted, there's some new choreography -- I agree the back spiral is really nice! I also noticed more expression and audience connection -- it's fun to see him express different types of emotions to the audience other than drama/high-energy perk.

I think his skating skills continue to improve. One interesting thing (which you'd likely notice) is that he's doing more quick crossovers, rather than kind of the long flowy ones we've seen him do, to generate speed, which I think is designed to help him with the new jump technique, perhaps. But overall, it's cool to see him be even faster and have better edges then Nationals just nine months ago.

Also, as I said elsewhere, I can't believe Ted ran a camera AND did commentary. Pretty impressive stuff.

You can set up any kind of fan page you want! Put it in Team or General, I think.

Jason's 3A technique looks much better to me!
