Jason Brown

I saw a run through of his FS that had both his triple triple combos in (3F-3T and 3Lz-Eu-3Sal) and they looked flawless! Plus the new spiral transition into his solo 3F! Fingers crossed for a clean skate tomorrow!
Are you there in Grenoble, @fzztsimmons ? (If so, I'm very envious - I was supposed to be there, but the lateness of the confirmation that there would be an audience meant I couldn't take the time off.... 😟 )

I am so excited to see Jason skate this weekend. I cannot figure out the timing for today. I says that both pairs and mens short start at 12:45 EST. Does any one have any info?

Oh no I wish I was!!! I contemplated it actually but I couldn't get the time off for it!

Following the SP I think Jason did pretty good - obviously mistake on the 3A and flying sit but he didnt let it get to his head and went all out on the step seq/rest of the programme. And his PCS and GOE was good on what he did do. Plus he's behind second place by like 0.3 or something.

My highlight were the "WHAT KIND OF SPIN IS THAT" and the "Clean up the choctaw" banners in the crowd - those rohene quotes live in my mind rent free!

Jason struggled with the 3A all day. From three attempts I saw from his morning practice (twitter vids) he had a stepout on two and doubled one. IMO it would be better for him to do a 3S instead of 4S tomorrow. It's clear something is bothering him still. The 3S will save him some points and some focus. I don't think he'll do it though.

Does Jason need 2nd to get into GPF, or will he have a chance to qualify if he wins bronze?
Yes, there is a good chance. It will depend on how well Semenenko does (and Kolyada). If Semenenko wins gold, Jason could well be out even with 2nd. Let's hope Rizzo has the skate of his life at Rostelecom. (I'm not wishing bad on anyone, just saying)

Idk, virtually ALL of the men were struggling with the triple axel in the short. And he landed a beauty in the six minute warm up.

I don’t know if the problems with his 3A and his spins were due to his foot or the ice, but I think the changes to the choreography may also have been a factor. If you watch his SP at Worlds 2021, he looks much crisper and faster than he did today, his spins are much faster & better centered, and all three spins were level 4 (today only one was, and the first spin - which now has a difficult transition into it - was only level 2 😳). Hopefully he’ll do better tomorrow.

He missed the fly feature on the sit spin - I saw it straight away. But there are some reports the ice was slushy and in bad condition. I thought he still looked very good regardless. He is going to have to skate well in the FS though, there is an almighty traffic jam behind him.

Now that he's had the experience of the SP on that ice, he'll be better able to adjust for the FS.
