Jason Brown

@Hyena, if you don't feel like you need more information than you already have, that's great. But everyone is different, and in my opinion, it's perfectly fine for others to want more. Quite honestly, since Jason's injury, there's been far less news about him overall, and for various reasons, a lot of formerly regular posters have stopped posting as frequently. As a result, we don't have as many interesting, substantive conversations these days. I've noticed that no matter what is posted - whether it's the sun valley video or the dumb hairstyle pictures I just posted - comments die off pretty quickly. So we're reduced to comments about the lack of information - which clearly annoy some people - or the kind of generic "I love Jason" or "I can't wait for Glacier Falls" comments that are really hard to respond to unless you add, "me, too." It would help to stimulate satisfying conversation if there was some news out there or if people brought some interesting questions or ideas to the thread. Hopefully news about Glacier Falls and Senior B assignments will soon fill the void.

As to whether or not there's been a change in Jason's posting: yeah, there has been. It's quite easy to see on Instagram. After his injury he began posting less, but he still documented events like returning to training and heading to Ice Chips and TCC. He gave an interview at TCC with Mrs P where he talked about going on vacation and competing in summer competitions like Broadmoor. Ice Network featured him in a couple of "come back" articles. He posted a great clip that showed him nailing a 3A-1L-3F in late May and announced that it was his last training session before he took a 2 week vacation. He posted a ton of pix / comments during his vacation. But since his return, the content has been kinda empty. Information that he was training with FC surfaced in random Instagram comments in late June followed by a few Carly Gold off-ice pics showing Jason with Gracie, and was finally mentioned by TSL about 2 weeks later. As to TSL's comments being definitive, well, they've been known to be wrong before, although I'm not saying that is or is not the case here.

Finally, as to why Kori or Jason should bother to say anything after TSL's comments - and whether we "deserve" to get information about him - quite honestly, Jason is a public figure, albeit in a limited sphere. He's got 50k followers on Twitter and Instagram. Training is part of his professional life, not his personal life. If we "deserve" news about other topics of interest to us, I don't know why Jason's training should be an exception.

Frankly, I would be thrilled to discuss something substantive about Jason here - so if anyone has thoughts about his performance at Sun Valley, potential changes to his program content, etc: please, bring 'em on!

Maybe the lack of tweeting reflects that Frank is a stern training taskmaster and putting him to work. ;) . You don't really see a whole lot of training videos from Gracie either. She use to post them all the time on YouTube and on Twitter under her own coach, but she doesn't really do that now -- maybe once in blue moon these days.

Hi Mrs P! :)

You know, I'm not really bothered by the lack of actual training clips. We've never got a lot of those from Jason, though both Rohene and Vincent occasionally posted some great jumps and bits of new choreo, and 7K has put out brief clips of edge class, off-ice training, etc. In this case, Jason is presumably with Frank for a limited time, which means a lot of concentrated hard work. Also, as it's a new relationship, he and Frank have to get used to each other, and that takes time and energy. Finally, I can imagine both Frank and Jason not wanting to disclose the specifics of what they're working on, and I'm fine with that. I have heard that Jason's done some killer 3As, and it would be great to get clips of those - but I'll be satisfied if we get to see 3 great ones at GF! Really for me, the whole issue has been the secrecy about the fact he's there. It just seems odd, but I'm sure there's a reason, whether it's a dumb one or an important one.

By the way, if I recall, there was some stuff in your post TCC interview that you had to cut from the article because it was getting too long. Do you have time to share those things? If so, it would be really great! :hap85:

I think one of the reasons there is less to talk about Jason is because of his programs - that is, the fact that we already know what he is going to skate to next season, and have already even seen both of them in competition. So that whole element of speculating beforehand, and dissecting afterwards, has fallen away. We could discuss whether or no Rohene will restrain himself with the Bedazzler, I suppose, but... That will only take us so far, after all.:)

I vote that Carly follows Jason to 7k.

Not for the training, but because I want to see her photos. :agree:

Has Jason switched to Edea skates? It sorta looks like there is a gold Edea logo on the heal of the boot he is wearing in the spiral shot.

Also a few day ago Carly posted this photo https://www.instagram.com/p/BH0m2DuggxV/ which could be Jason, but also could be anyone who wears black skates. But these do look to be on the lower cut side, which we know Jason likes for toe point.

Anyone have any info? Last i heard he was in Jacksons.

The photo with Edeaskates is of Daisuke Murakami (if you click the photo, it identifies the hand as "diceskates").

Gracie is in Dublin now and tweeted about Jason:

I think of @jasonbskates every time I hear Riverdance 🎼...which is basically in every store in Dublin 🍀😂👍🏼#missyou #tbt

I've really enjoyed Gracie and Jason and Carly as training mates this summer. Carly's photos are beautiful.

FYI, Cecily Morrow (the Gustave Lussi acolyte and jumping expert), previously reported to be joining 7K in June, is apparently staying in Lake Placid. She is now listed as a "Satellite Coach" (Huh?) below their staff. See the following and scroll down:

Under the circumstances, Jason's sojourn with Frank Carroll and team in California is even less surprising. He might make further visits to TSC during the season. What do you think?

Please tell me Jason is still staying with Kori?

He is. My understanding is that he is only skating at TSC until Glacier Falls. He and Kori just posted a pic together a few days ago saying they are ready to start their 17th season together.
