I am very happy for Jason to get Skate Canada and NHK - both with very competitive fields and a great opportunity to prove his value and establish even more confidence. Hope everyone will bring their A-game, because I believe Jason will only benefit from that. It could only boost his determination, strive for challenging himself and develop skills/abilities.
Both competitions are outside of US, so it definitely help out with those remarks about home-inflated scores regarding Jason at SA. For me personally, he does not need to prove anything to anyone in that matter - Helsinki and WTT showed that his approach works for him, his confidence and his results. Even without a quad, he still managed to impress judges, people, other skaters with his skating overall, the way he performs. He already established his 'stamp', signature and certain level of skating presence/quality in FS world, which all make him very individual, unique and desired by competitions. A true rare case of a skater and performer always up to any challenge, any field, any competition, holding his head high, regardless of result, score - because he obviously knows his worth, his aims, advantages and areas of improve.
It's great to be Jason's fan, because you're always up to a treat seeing him perform. It pains some ppl to see that actual skating (leaving out jumping elements alone) can be seen, rewarded and appreciated not only by viewers, but judges also. But it's up to those people, it's a useless fight with someone's convictions and hatred. I focus myself on excitement about seeing Jason in SC and NHK, where he is so loved.
