Jason Brown

I am hoping the lighting is just weird here because the color of the sparkles... well I have to be honest, my first thought was "Is Love a B!tch because she threw up on your shirt?" I need a second view. But I am thrilled with the color! One of the greatest tragedies of his 2018 Nationals free skate was that I think that might have been my favorite Jason costume actually. I loved that red and black number and thought it looked great on him. I can understand if it has long since been burned, but am glad the color is back as I think it looks great on Jason.

Also can anyone spot Jason with any puppies?

Well, if Jason does sparkles and velvet hopefully he follows Shoma Uno's example.. his skating costumes are to die for.. my taste tends toward plain and simple but Shoma is always an exception..:luv17: :slink:

Well, a brief costume sighting is at least some news. As well as the long expected confirmation of ACI:agree:

It does remind me of the last iteration of the Inner Love costume, which was a lovely costume with now bad memories. But the jaggy stuff on the front? Well let's the whole thing:scratch2:

And hope that Rohene's Bedazzler does not clear customs:laugh:

The Nationals costume was really lovely in person. The back was sheer black -- and I'm not usually into that kind of thing -- but it worked really well for his posture/line. But yeah it's sad that it is associated with such a disaster of a skate.

As I said, it's really hard to tell the effect/intent since he's only wearing half the costume or half of it properly -- even if those were the actual pants, they obviously aren't supposed to be rolled up like that.

It looks like of ragged, I think cause you know Love is a... :P I mean heartbreak makes you a mess or rough or something.

Of course he has a puppy photo with Karen. He had a nice post about her on his IG story . Also, I feel like in a single day we've seen like multiple hair styles from him. He had loose curls in the photo with Karen from the IG story, then it's slicked back during his time on the rink/SP and then in the puppy photo it's kind of in-between straight/curly.

Has anyone posted which coach is attending Champs Camp with Jason?

Not that I’ve seen. Presumably Brian is in Bratislava, but if Gracie can post pics with Vincent and Pasha (I didn’t realize he was coaching her too) then Jason can post “me with my coach” as well:gaah:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, aside from the puppy stuff this Champs Camp was not only boring, it was worthless as a source of info for fans. Apparently due to a new condensed schedule it ended yesterday rather than on 8/23 as originally stated on their website.

Does USFS think fans are stupid and that we’re all just salivating for cuteness and the opportunity to post questions that a couple of skaters might maybe answer in 30 seconds? It seems so.

And did you catch the announcement that USFS has some sort of social media deal that will enable skaters to monetize their accounts with very little effort on their own part? Does that mean we will now have to wade through ads in order to view content posted by Jason? Not me.

El, I think Haleth posted that Brian was at GTSA in Toronto this weekend, so he pretty clearly wasnt part of the Champs Camp “festivities.” :dev2:

I agree about the social media.

I am truly hoping that the participation is voluntary and that Jason will not be required to participate as a USFS athlete (or if he is, that he sets up a separate “Jason USFS Account” for whatever it is they want to monetize). I am hoping that it is more of an offer for the skaters who don’t feel like taking the time Jason has on social media, and I will be honest here, may need financial support more than Jason. Hoping, hoping, hoping:pray:

The fluff has always been one of the best parts of Champs Camp, but puppy fluff is getting old. Although Jason looks way more comfy with the pups now;)

He could ... but Jason is no dummy . Wiser/safer not to post a "my coach and I" photo from Champs Camp.

Nothing to be gained for Jason and the TCC team by stirring up inevitable chatter about what it "means" that Coach X was with Jason at Champs Camp, and Coach Y or Z was not.
For all we know, they perhaps have not even made a firm decision as to who Jason's primary coach will be.

FWIW, I think it's possible that Champs Camp ended for different disciplines at different times?
Pair skaters were still posting tonight about a cooking class.
Dancers seemed to be finished last night, and departed first thing this morning.
Singles skaters seemed to be departing later in the day … as if perhaps they still had some official stuff going on today.

ETA (at approx. noon ET on Aug 23):
jpcoach's Instagram story posted half an hour ago: "Beautiful weather for last day of Champs!"

... I actually love Introspective Jason and I like that we're seeing other facets of him besides the happyallthetime skater.

:agree: I too love Introspective Jason. And I always like seeing facets of Jason other than Mr. HappyHappyHappy.

The first post-haircut photo of Jason smiling was a welcome sight for me as a sign that he did not regret his big decision.

(I do totally understand that it is perfectly natural that getting accustomed to his very different look would take time for Jason.)

I think Jason's used to the haircut now. We haven't seen him wearing a single hat since the haircut.

I spoke with a coach who attended Champs Camp. She said all coaches must have completed their CER testing to accompany a student there. She didn't see anyone with Jason.

Also looks like Borser was not at the JGP with Stephen... and Stephen still did awesome... so i think they know what they are doing up north of the border.

Thx, DinkyD.

I think you are referring to PSA certification? About which I know zilch.

FWIW, on Aug 14, Brian and Tracy both completed "2018-2019 (Current Season- Open) USFS CER INTRO PROGRAM PROFESSIONAL COACH/ CHOREOGRAPHER."

Not saying that it would be sufficient for Champs Camp … I have no idea one way or the other.

But I think worth noting that Brian and Tracy seemingly at least have started the process of getting USFS certification.

(Perhaps other TCC coaches too? I checked only for Brian and Tracy.)

You jinxed yourself, Mrs. P ;) :ghug:. This just in: https://twitter.com/jasonbskates/status/1032676772649811969

But I agree that Jason probably is used to the haircut by now … a week after going short.

(I meant that I did find it 100% understandable that in the first post-haircut photo that Jason chose to share, he was not smiling.)

Yes, my poor brain screeched to a halt when I saw Brian walk out right in front of me into the main hallway (public space). I was a Scotiabank Pond newbie and, seeing the sign for the correct rink, I assumed I should go in because I thought that's where any seating would be accessed, as it seemed a smaller rink space on the ls. Which is how I then saw that Lee was there too (and Gabby fist-bumping a fellow competitor). Don't worry after my brain rebooted I saw there were actual risers on the other side (not visible in video of the event iirc) and that there seemed to be no access from the main level. So I got an unintentional close-up in a non-public space before I went back out to ask staff for directions to the risers.

So both Lee and Brian were at GTSA and not CC. Paige (spins specialist) and iirc Andrew (ice dance) and maybe Joey (ice dance/choreo) are up north (Instagram) probably handling the charity ice show Javi and other Team Cricket members will be doing this weekend.

Although Lee was prominent at the JGP today, I'm pretty sure I spotted Brian watching further down the rink. I hope I'm right, as for a moment I was reminded of last year's emergency surgery at SCI, when ppl were wondering why he was not with Jun. No more emergency surgeries, Team Cricket! :disapp: Not allowed! It could be that Lee came up for two weeks as he will be also handling Conrad in Linz next week. Karen Preston, who is also on Jason's coaching team, was also at today's men's event with Ernest and they were coaching Lilian B. So unless Karen went home or to Europe early from CC, I suspect Tracy was with Jason. If not, Ghislain (jumps specialist) travels sometimes with Yuzu and now Joseph, so if Tracy for whatever reason could not go, I bet he'd be with Jason. He seems like a good egg in his interactions with Yuzuru and Jun, so perhaps he may have been chosen if the fed wanted one of the more jump-oriented coaches with Jason.

Again, I'm speculating here, so take with a big grain of salt, but based on what I know so far, either Tracy or Ghislain may have accompanied Jason, unless Karen was able to do a quick turnaround.
