Jason Brown

Afraid to read article before Skate Canada!

I just made my predictions for Skate Canada. I wanted to put
you-know-who as first, which would be my dream, or at least
second, which is what I expect, but I am afraid I will jinx him.
Best of luck!

After some reflection, I do not want to be a poor sport, so
here is another attempt. Technology may have won with delete
(Ha! My device wants me to say with 'Autocorrect'!), but I will
not accept defeat.

What a bad luck day (for me on GS). I am channeling all the negative energy away from Jason. Surely he will medal at Skate Canada!

Interesting article. I'm sorry to hear that Champs Camp was not a good experience for him, though it's not surprising given the short amount of time that had elapsed. I'm curious what in directions he felt he was being pulled by USFS and Kori, and how they contrasted with his own wants. I'm not expecting a ton of improvement at SC over ACI, but I really hope there is some. Small steps forward can go a long way.

This was a great article- it might be the most enjoyable article by Hersh I’ve read.

After a long day, and just sitting down to rest, what an informative and enjoyable article from Phil. Definitely his best work:cool:

Those quotes from Tracy are balm to my soul: as long as Tracy Wilson draws breath, Jason will be at TCC:)

But yikes, whatever the backstory is with Jason, USFS and Kori.... I'm surprised we even learned that much, but for Jason to say that a situation is not rainbows and butterflies

Yes there was a lot of interesting info. For example, Brian is working on jumps with him but when Jason’s coaches were listed, the list didn’t include Brian. And...Tracy’s comments were quoted in detail, but Brian was only quoted once, briefly. I’m glad Tracy is so enthusiastic and so strongly behind him and that he and Zhenya are friends.

I’m also glad Jason is opening up about what happened last year and the way things are going now. I knew last season was hard for him, but it was much tougher than I ever realized, and he came much closer to quitting.

A couple of SC practice reports from the morning:

Translation from JP:
[Skecana] The official practice of men in the morning was over. Jason was flying 😊 through the SP with all the sliding jumps.

@jasonbskates short program is one of my favourite programs of the year! He looked solid in practice this morning at #SCI18 - flawless triple flip and triple axel in his run through!

Soooooo nice Jason!!! Big Hug and all the best in the comp... :dance3: Ted's commentary is a breath of fresh air. :luv17::luv17:

He looks good! More confident and expressive.

Wonder what is throwing him off with the 3z-3t? It looks like he had been he same problem with it as at ACI.

Well they are retooling his jumps and he has always flirted with the a flutz, so my guess is that his lutz is getting lots of attention and it may just be a bit raw still.

Honestly I am not sure the lutz toe is worth it vs the flip toe. I don't think the risk is worth the reward, he can make up most of the points on GOE and is most likely to go clean.

Did anybody see the FS runthrough? Somebody rang just as he was starting and I missed it :(

Oh my goodness, StitchMonkey, you are Genius!!! I never knew there was REWIND! Now I can rewatch my favorite parts, when Jason photobombs Junhwan's FS!
