Jason Brown

I realize the ISU means international skating union, but it would have been nice if those videos were available in the US;)

And I love Jason on bringing back the old programs:

“There's a lot more that I have left in me, technically. But I also want to give so much artistically, and that takes a lot out of me when you're learning a new program and trying to create new storylines. I really invest myself into the choreographic process”

What a pity that you can't watch a video about a US skater in the US! That's strange, I mean these features with videos are supposed to be for the whole world to read, see and listen to. It's a bit awkward that people from 'back home' can't even watch them.

Thank you, I was reading too fast and did not see "watch on YouTube". (although in my defense the second one said not uploaded and I can only hold one thought at a time:laugh:)

I love that he is repeating the "I won't sacrifice artistry for technical aspects" line. Jason is definitely confident in who he is now, and I am here for it:clap:

I know this interview is few days old, but I thought the answer was so touching.

An interviewer asked Zhenya which skater she would start a charitable foundation with. She said Jason. Awww.

I miss their training together:cry:

It's obvious that Evgenia and Jason miss training together. But they definitely will have a lifetime friendship. That's worth it's weight in gold.:)

Just to let you all know. IFS is going to have a feature on Rohene in the September/October issue. It's announced as follows:

Rohene Ward has earned global recognition for his work as a choreographer, particularly for the programs he has created for the American skater Jason Brown. But getting to this point in his life and career has been a long and often disappointing journey.

I suspect Jason will be mentioned pretty often!

IIRC, Rohene came from a pretty sparse childhood in a not-so-good neighborhood here in Minneapolis. From the videos I've seen, he's always had big jumps and beautiful spins but lacked consistency. He's an outstanding choreographer with such a fresh approach to programs. He and Jason are quite a pair!

I was looking up his history and found this quote in the local newsrag: “Rohene has a gift,” said Ade, who has worked with Ward since 2007. “Choreography is not something he learned to do well. It comes so naturally to him; it comes out of his soul."

Well said Kori!

The latest IG post from Jason shows him skating at TCC and looking gorgeous as ever.

since he credited Danielle Earl for the photo, dare we hope that this is recent, with Danielle traveling here and there for photography and more persons allowed at the rink? Or is this an older photo that I missed?

It's an older photo unfortunately, from the set of photos Danielle took when she went to TCC in December last year.

Not to alarm anyone, but I was listening to the latest TSL episode (not exactly the most accurate news source I know) and a reference was made by Dave to the "Jason Brown situation... he's had a broken foot" .... Now, I'm not sure when they're referencing this as happening - I will admit to stalking all his recent instagram photos for any sign of a cast/plaster and can't see anything, though I'm sure he curates his content very carefully. It could be something small like a stress fracture and tbh the off season is probably the best time for this to happen so it could heal and luckily he is reusing his programmes so he knows them well.
It just made me wonder when we'll next be seeing Jason, he's been quiet on the skating front aside from videos when he trained with Rohene after worlds... I believe he was meant to be at Sun Valley some time in September?
