Jason Brown

So, while we are waiting Jasonites:

Presuming that the LP will be The Impossible Dream, what is the SP going to be?

Sinnerman redux :devilish:(of course I love it, but three years in a row?)

Maybe Love is a Bitch? He did say it was one of his favs I think.

A new program😱

I really don't have a good guess.....

He has a lot of work to do on Dream. Learning another new program in a relatively short time might be risky. He hasn't been at Ro's rink for a while. We'll all wait breathlessly. There are so many possibilities. I can think of several, but Ro's SPs are so brilliant. One possibility is that Jason will choreograph his own short?

I wonder if it isn't more difficult to choreograph a program for oneself? If Jason is seen anywhere near Rohene Ward we should know... But he may also try a collaboration with a new choreographer, to expand his own possibilities later.

The instastory is gone by now but a few days ago Jordan Cowan posted a photo with Jason and Tracy and said something to the effect that it was always fun to film Jason. Hopefully, we'll see the results soon.

In the meantime, Jason will be appearing in Providence RI on December 3rd for a tree lighting ceremony:

Welllllll - how do we know he hasn't already been working on a new program(s). If Nathan could work long distance with Raf, Jason could certainly be doing zoom calls or something with Rohene. They've been together for so long and Ro definitely knows what Jason is capable of. It's not out of the realm of possibility. I think Jason's decision to return to competition wasn't a spur of the moment idea. Just something to think about......(and I'm so thrilled I'm going to Nationals again this year!!!)

I was just coming in here to post that article. Was watching the NHK Pairs short and just got to it. Honestly, with Jason's attitude and self-awareness right now, he's really blazing a new path. To think that an elite skater could be (and hopefully will be) successful at Nationals without competing in a year and doing his own thing is really most interesting. And not focussing on the technical aspect of the sport. I love it!!! If anyone can do it - Jason can!

This article brings me such hope (and a positive article from Phil H. not obsessing about quads, the apocalypse is coming early )

Not because Jason may compete (of course yay🎉) but because of his attitude, because he will bring what only Jason can bring to skating, and quads be damned.

This quote 😭

“This isn’t about some unfinished business or an outcome or the need to do `X’ to prove myself,” Brown said. “It’s just out of love for the sport and the challenge of trying to better myself.
“There is nothing where I am saying, ‘I need this to feel finished.’ I am so proud of my career.”

Knowing Jason as we do, we know that he will work hard to skate his best, but the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow won't be making the Olympics, it will be making himself and his audience happy and telling his story. I saw him give everything he had at SOI and he loved it. He was totally self motivated. If he's practicing quads, and it seems that he might be doing that, he's doing it because it makes him happy to see if he can land one. He really does have nothing to prove. Jason skating with joy gives me joy! He's got lots of shows coming up and if he gets the chance to compete, he'll do it. I still would love to see an All Star Jason and Friends show do a tour. Maybe someone will produce that!

i truly hope this all works out for Jason! i hope this new way of training and doing things is successful for him, he enjoys it, and he can really truly skate for himself without expectations. he deserves it. i think 2026 is very realistic (and lots of medals along the way) if he wants to.

go Jason! :hap10:

Interesting! I think he may give up on the quads and concentrate instead on pushing all the other components and keeping consistent. If he'd tripled that jump at the Olympics (instead of doubling it), he would have placed, what, 4th?

Plus, he's skating the way he wants to skate, emphasising the artistry. I think he might want to keep pushing the sport in a different direction, and may consider another year or two. That's what I'm hoping, too, of course....
@Bookseller - looks like the two of us were onto something in April...!
