Jason Brown

This is the program that Jason choreographed for Taira Shinohara.

I am biased of course, :) but I think it is wonderful, and although Taira had jump issues, he presented the choreo beautifully.

It doesn't hurt that I love Mr. Bill Withers, which is the program music, even in a remix. ;)

I loved Taira's musicality and attention to detail - lots of expression and he uses his upper body really well. You can clearly see Jason's influence! I'll be following Taira's skating in future - thank you for sharing, @el henry

I liked the remix too!

The choreo looks good on him and the spins were really good. Falling on the 3A is a big one. That's huge in the short. But Jason choreographed a simple, strong entry into it, so if Taira can stabilize his 3A and land it. that is going to be a good program for him. I like that music also. Always have.

My toddler daughter was begging to watch skating today, so I showed her Jason's Riverdance and Schindler's List. I love them both, but the growth in him as a skater and artist between the two programs is incredible. He is such a gift to skating, and I don't say that about many people!

I just forked out $19.99 for a pass to the Shanghai Trophy via Solidsport. I had a struggle to get my card payment cleared (they clearly thought it was fraud, but it looks like the last try went through. The pass allows live access, but also replays until the end of December. Hopefully, I will get to see Jason live, but at least I'll get to see it. I did this once before with Solidsport and it worked. I just have to see how he's skating! I have Peacock without ads for the GP circuit. We're heading back into the competitive season WITH Jason again!

Jason did a new Q&A session at Friends on Ice in Yokohama, Japan.

He took the time to answer a number of questions about many things, such as the summer trip to Spain, choreographing Taira's SP and his approach to choreographing others' programs, why he decided to change Tarzan FS to SP, how he felt when he first heard his FS music (Shoma☺️), JB brand merchs and more.

A good Q&A. It's good to see him relaxed, positive and looking forward to the upcoming season. I'm excited to see how he skates this weekend in China. Go Jason!!

I found Jason's thoughts on his own choreo really interesting: he loves loves loves Tarzan, so hopefully it works out. He knows that Spiegel im Spiegel is piano music, but he feels like he hasn't done piano music for his long since, well, the Piano, and he wants to show his growth.

I am loving the new Jason response to "your goals": bring more people into skating, show people that skating can be diverse and wonderful and soul touching, (my paraphrase) and not one word about scores or medals. ;)

I am here for it.:hap10:

Very nice interview. I'm happy to hear his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. I remember being disappointed at 2016 Boston Worlds that he wasn't there. Here's hoping he'll be there for 2025 Boston Worlds! Maybe the thought of a home Worlds is inspiring him.

World's has been his main goal for the last few years. He has an excellent chance of being chosen for the team this year, I think. Medals were never his main goal. It was always skating his best and doing enough to get to high level competitions. If a medal came along with that, he was extra happy. I'm excited to see him skate this season! My favorite Jason programs after Riverdance, were always those piano pieces. I'm glad that he's going back to a piano piece. He interprets them beautifully and becomes one with the piano.

Saw the replay: darned fall on the 3A (only because it interrupted the program).

His skating is still so beautiful. :love2: Tarzan the program is growing on me, Tarzan the music, well, Jason makes anything look good. ;)

And he is wearing a plain brown shirt rather than the lovely green and yellow accented one :(.

He might be saving a more elaborate shirt for the GPs. We'll see. Overall, the skate was good today and it can get better, so that's good news. He looked confident, focused and happy to be competing. And not upset by the results. Plus, he just quietly moved on from the fall on the 3A. It didn't affect the rest of the program. He's got work to do over the next 3 weeks. I'm excited to see this the next time he competes this in Canada. He's up against stiff competition. But he can handle that. That program is growing and will get better. I have no idea what to expect tomorrow. I may not see it live, but I will see the replays for sure.

I think he just hasn't worked that program long enough. He hasn't indicated any injury. I could be totally wrong but it almost seemed like his timing on his jumps was a titch off and he needs more reps on the choreography. The 3A has been a challenge for him for a long time and he's come dangerously close to underrotating it before. I really love the music and the choreo is stunning. Classic Jason. He's usually been pretty open about his injuries so I hope I'm right! 🤞

Jason's Exhibition program from Shanghai Trophy:

Hit the Road Jack. Definitely not the Genius of Soul, and I don't know if this is one cover that turns from slow into techno, or two different covers Many of Jason's tried and true exhibition moves, although the finger wagging is cute,
